I loved the layering of the silk-screened flowers, but they felt super handkerchief-y. I wanted to try a non-sew method tonight before working my hands on it with scissors down the road. I figured if this way turned out amazing, I wouldn't have to cut an inch.
I turned the dress around and wore the back in the front. There were two longish navy pieces of fabric that hung on each side of the zipper that I tied together. A little bit of knot action!! I took a brown skirt from my collection (it's from H&M!) and put it on top of the dress to give it a whole new look.
I also had a sparkly, knit, baroque-ish vest that I paired on top as well for a little bit of glam.
The brilliant part was that there was some darting in the bust area, but the handkerchief/floral bit covered it all!!
I did some holiday cocktails, and took a shot sans jacked in front of the lit COCKTAILS sign outside, but unfortunately in the b&w, it's hard to see.
The complete outfit looked like this - I totally felt like I was back in NY having a neutral fall with all the shades of brown I was in and the faux fur collared jacket!!

I have a few - I could spend hours scouring the racks at Marshalls or TJ Maxx, but if I had an expendable income, I'd spend tons of time at Anthropologie. I thrive to have my apartment smell as good :)
