Packing Update!

Hello everyone! Apologies for the lack of posts this past week - my impending move has me working overtime! It's a go to work, get home at 7pm, and pack routine before crashing a few hours later. The next two weeks are going to be crazy/fun/exhausting/cathartic as I get everything I want to hold onto boxed up and the rest of the things off to Goodwill.

My new place has bookshelves in the walls, so I'm excited to have a place for all of my books! I did put a stash together to donate, though. Do I really need two copies of the first Harry Potter book? (It was a toss up, but...no.)

I found this new style of bracelet the best for holding onto tape without losing it or forgetting where I put it.

I'm certain that a roll got put into a box :)

I'm taking my break moments where I can get them! More to come and you'll be seeing a bunch of your own creations getting posted while I'm working away.

Corduroy Collared Dress

I love it when this happens.

Yeah, I'm talking about when that dress just won't fit. In this case, I couldn't get one of my arms into the sleeve nor button up the top portion of the dress.

This just wasn't going to work...

Time to make this something wearable!

I started by snipping a panel of corduroy material that was stitched to the back of the dress. (It looked like a big Band-aid that gathered material and was ultimately what was not letting me get my other arm in or button anything up!)

Next, I shortened the piece.I trimmed the fabric with pinking shears...

...and then pinned under the raw edges to prepare a new hem.

I sewed...

...and I put tights on with my knee high boots and was ready to go!

The panel is gone!!

Pop that collar!

I mean how cool is the underside of the button area on this piece? So chic.

This was my basketball viewing ensemble. A dress, but made out of corduroy, which made it ok in my book!

We're an excited bunch :)

I think this is such a great winter dress! "Just add tights" should be the tagline!!

Hi everyone! I've been a bit offline the past week because I'm moving (yay!! still in LA, but to a space where I'll have an actual studio to work in!!) and have been in crazy boxing up mode. Alas, I'm back and have some really fun remakes around the corner. This is just one you get to look forward to...
