Day 126. 239 days and $235 left to go.

It's a beautiful day in this neighborhood, a beautiful day for a neighbor. Would you be mine? Could you be mine? Yes, the intro to Mr. Roger's Neighborhood welcomes you today, as my pick for the day is a bold, blue cardigan. Day 126 - Before

Now it's something that our friend Mr. Rogers would totally have worn on one of his episodes taking us to the Neighborhood of Make-Believe or just hangin' with Mr. McFeely as he delivered mail.

Mr. Rogers!

The only thing is that his didn't have any of these...

Holes!

or these...

More holes!

That's right, this cardigan was full of holes. Not just these few, but over 20!! On the back of the cardi, on the front, there were holes everywhere. I wasn't sure about this one when I came across it, but I thought it would be fun to play around and try to mend it.

It was rather large, so first I took in the sleeves and the body of the cardigan before I tried to conquer the holes. I could have hand stitched each individual hole, however I ended up just using my sewing machine to stitch over them. I'll be honest - I needed to have it ready to wear for the Duke game today and it was all about fast and easy :)

Newly stitched up holes

After mending over what I thought were all the holes, of course I found a few other ones hiding on me. Pesky little suckers. But at the end of the day, (really before 6 PST) I think I nailed them all!

Day 126 - After

My new cardigan fits much better now and is totally ready to cheer on the Blue Devils. A totally lovely day in the neighborhood.
