Merry Christmas!!

Wishing all of you out there the most lovely holiday imaginable!!  I've been spending some time scoping out old photos with my family (we have thousands!!) but one of my faves is this one... New Dress A Day - Merry Christmas

A rad little photo/DIY ornament from back in nursery school!!  Photo on one side with a ric rac trimmed, glittered styrofoam ball on the other??  Best. Ever.

Sending out all my x's and o's for a most beautiful holiday!

DIY: Garden Pick Hair Clip

On the 5th day of holiday DIY my true love gave to me, a garden pick turned into a clip for all to see.  I'm a rhyming machine!! New Dress A Day - DIY - garden pick hair clip

Day 5: Garden Pick Hair Clip

1. E6000 Glue

2. Hair clips

3. Garden picks

What happens when you go to Home Depot to grab painter's tape and end up scouring all of the aisles??  You pick up things from the garden section (decorative picks) to turn into accessories!!

See how to create this adorable DIY in three easy steps!

First break off the wooden dowel attached to the garden pick...

Next add glue to the back of the pick...

...and affix a hair clip/comb/bobby pin to the glued area.

Let dry and kablamo!  Brand new clip for the tresses!

This project couldn't be easier.  Just think outside the box a little and try to come up with other things that could be made into clips as well because the world is your oyster!!

(Sidenote; I made two of these clips, so if there are any takers for the other one, let me know!  Present will head your way...)

DIY: Rhinestone Encrusted Compact

On the 4th day of holiday DIY my true love gave to me, a rhinestone encrusted compact to help me check my teeth. And the cheesy rhymes continue! Day 4: Rhinestone Encrusted Compact

I LOVE this project so much because not only is it fun and glitzy, it really couldn't be easier to make!  It's something that you can craft on crafternoons with friends or something to give to all the office pals. And each one will run you less than $2 to make!

This DIY only takes three supplies...

New Dress A Day - DIY - rhinestoned compact

1. E6000 glue

2. Rhinestones (I snagged these two packs at the Dollar Tree in NC!)

3. Compact (This came from the same Dollar Tree that I found the rhinestones - the idea actually came to me while getting some last-minute wrapping paper and bows!)

The first thing I did was play around with the stones to come up with a pattern to adhere to the compact.

Once I figured out what I wanted to put on top...

...I started to glue everything in place.  I dabbed the backs of the rhinestones with E6000...

...and placed them on top of the compact!

I let the compact completely dry for a few hours and was left with such a chic new mirror.

I'd be super jazzed to receive this in my stocking!!
