So this little cold I've had has totally kicked my tush!  I expected to be up and in action on Wednesday but that just didn't happen.  I've been taking a lovely cocktail of vitamins and cold meds, along with teas, juices, and water, and I'm finally feeling like this weekend will bring me days without coughing!!  (Fingers crossed!!) Since no remake was had today, I'm offering a little giveaway instead!!

The goodies to be scored today include a fab Tarte mascara, a pair of black floral studs, and a Color Club nail polish in silver glitter.  Who doesn't love silver glitter??

New Dress A Day - Giveaway - Tarte

I know it's spring, but I couldn't resist going with some black and metallics - I've been inside all week, so I haven't seen a lick of sunshine and it still feels like winter to me.  To enter, leave a comment below of fun spring things you look forward to!  Maybe it's Passover or Easter, or maybe it's just the extended days or seeing the daffodils pop through the cold ground... a winner will be chosen next week!!

I'm excited for getting more hikes in during the longer days...hopefully this will come true next week after my cough attacks subside :)  I will be getting lots of pieces together this weekend to make up for the loss of sewing while I've been sick.  I've been sleeping a ton, which has been so great - I think I've slept more this week than all year so far!!  Thanks to all for the sweet messages to feel better too - you guys are amazing!!

Happy weekend, friends!!

Workout Wednesday

Happy mid-week, friends! I got struck with a not-so-cute little bug at the end of the weekend and have been trying to get better with lots of sleep, fluids, and meds.  My coffee table/office today looked a bit like this today...

New Dress A Day - I'm Sick!

Instead of my scissors and seam ripper, it's a medley of DayQuil/NyQuil and Kleenex.  So instead of seeing a remake today, you're getting something else.  A little recap of my weekend which may or may not have included this...

New Dress A Day - Richard Simmons - Slimmons - Sweating to the Oldies

OK, it totally included this.  Yep, it's most likely going to be this year's Christmas card pic.

Richard Simmons has a class in LA at his studio called Slimmons, and one of my best gals and I have been trying to plan a workout sesh with him.  We met up Saturday morning for a quick caffeine jaunt before heading over to finally sweat to the oldies.

His studio is no joke...

...and you're not allowed to bring cameras past the doors into the workout, however I snuck mine in solely to document the art on the walls of the bathroom.  All amazing 80s/90s portraits of Richard.

We worked out for an hour - danced, lifted hand weights, shook hips, did crunches - and then got to listen to a bunch of RS's characters (he was pretending to be a slew of different people), songs, and nuggets of inspiration which were all incredibly entertaining, to say the least.

His tank had a rhinestoned Eiffel Tower on the front and a rhinestoned fleur de lis on the back.  Next time, I'm bringing the sequins.

It's a fun class of all ages and all levels - a 91 year old gal was celebrating her birthday there which was amazing - so you can always push harder to get a better workout.

I love taking classes at the gym, however sometimes my schedule is a little too hectic to even leave the house.  One of my dearest friends, Justin O'Connor (who used to be one of my cohorts when we slung pasta years ago as servers) started a workout that I've become obsessed with.   The idea is quick and intense and it's a routine you can do three times a week for around 20 minutes.  It's been my little lunchtime routine as of late because it goes by so quickly and I can stay in my living room.

Anyway, for anyone who might be interested, he's offering a one-week trial for a buck!  (Click HERE for the link to try it out)  Also, you can chat with him directly on the Facebook page if you have any questions.  But, I'm so proud of what he's come up with that I had to share with you guys, my equally as busy friends!

For the next workout post, you'll see a totally Richard Simmons-worthy glamdazzled tank to get down in.  Hopefully I'll be feeling better by then too!

Monday Remake

Yesterday was St. Patrick's Day and I totally went the green route. New Dress A Day - DIY - Goodwill - Vintage Green Dress

Um, hello two-toned green dress with two very interesting, boob-pockety spots!!  I feel like there are numerous jokes to be made here.

I did a leprechaun dance before...

...making this dress magically delicious!

First thing to go...the POCKETS!!

After both were removed, I shortened the sleeves.  The cuffs were elastic and slightly pouffy so I figured shortening would be the best way to eliminate the bulkiness of the thick polyester.  (This material was real thick, yo!)

The length came next - off went more than a foot of material!!  It's tunic time!

Because the polyester was not going to pull, I left the edges raw.  From pockets in precarious positions to a brand new tunic to say "Erin Go Bragh" in, my St. Patty's Day ensemble was complete!

The piece feels even more mod now.  I really love the two shades of green together and the sleeves cutting off at the elbow.

The tunic got paired with skinny jeans and a vintage Leo medallion with green stone, along with my very Irish red hair!!

I got to enjoy some weekend girlfriend time making Shrinky Dink "Lucky Charms" to celebrate the holiday too.

We traced designs on Shrinky Dink paper to turn them into fab charms for necklaces, earrings, and charm bracelets.  I went with a best friend, broken heart necklace design that I shaded in with colored pencils.

SPR went with throwback stars...

We dined on Beef Wellington, toffee pudding, Guinness cupcakes, Shepherd's Pie, and these guys...

Nothing like a homemade Shamrock Shake!!  After eating, crafting, and girlfriend catching up time, our charms all shrunk down to size.

I loved how these turned out and can't wait to perfect my sketching skills by making more of these guys for my charm bracelet.

Happy Monday!!
