134 Days to Go: $1 Remake

This dainty little number was one that I scored for a buck.  I loved the lace detail down the center, but the body was just a tad big and the skirt a bit long.  Did that stop me?  Obviously not :)  I was determined to make this dress work!! I'm gonna do a little mending to make everything fit like an Isotoner!

I began by pinning the body about a 1/2 inch in on each side.

Next I tackled the length.  I wanted the dress to hit me above the knees so I measured about four inches, took my Fiskars and began to trim, following the hem.

With the body pinned and the length tweaked, I began to stitch everything in place.

I wanted to give a little bit of color to the piece, so I belted it and added a fun necklace.

The belt was a thrifted J Crew find I got for $2, and the necklace was a beaded wonder I got at the flea market for a few bucks as well.

It gave just the bit of flair that I needed!  You can't really see the lace that well, so I'm thinking about taking this piece a step further and dyeing it!

What are your thoughts??  Think I should dye?  If so, what color do you think would be best?  I'm down for suggestions and just might get this re-tweaked this weekend.  Keep me posted on your thoughts in the comment space below!!
