how to make a belt out of ribbon

Christine's NDAD Creation

Today's piece by Christine is one that I'm totally in love with because she utilizes one of my favorite tricks - turning a piece around and rocking the back as the new front.  "Is it worth it, let me work it. I put my thing down, flip it and reverse it." Missy Elliot knows where's it's at!  See how C rocked this piece...

I had already resized and hemmed this sheer red dress from the 70's, but I was never happy with the fit.

After I started looking at your blog, I was inspired to revise it once more.

Let's get revising!

I simply turned the dress around and attached a black ribbon that I had rescued from another dress, and used it as a belt!

Hello brand new, gorgeous looking dress!  Christine - the piece looks SO good on you this way.  The salvaged belt matched with that hat really gives such a clean and polished look.  LOVE what you did and can't wait to see your next piece!
