I’ve been doing a bit of spring cleaning and have been coming across things I forgot I had! It’s like finding money in the pocket of your newly washed jeans…that never fails to get me excited, no matter how much it is! I came across these coral-colored wooden beads in my sorting and since I haven’t worn them in eons – I barely remembered that they existed – I figured they’d be a lovely complement to these fun, floral, costume earrings to giveaway! (The earrings are brand new, BT-dubs…)
To enter, leave a comment below with something that you’ve found while you’ve been spring cleaning that got you super excited or something that you’ve lost that you just can’t remember where it went! Maybe it was something that you had no recollection of having, something that ended up getting left in your possession after an old roommate/significant other moved out…or something that just simply vanished.
I remember I had this brown cardigan with a monogrammed “M” on the front of it that somehow just disappeared. I think I have klepto ghosts in my house sometimes when I can’t find something. It’s like, really ghosts? Can you just give me back the remote? OK, the ghosts don’t really exists…just my way of blaming something else for my momentary absentmindedness
Also, for all of you guys nearby or in Oklahoma or with family members in the tornado areas, I send all my good thoughts, prayers, and love your way
I’m always a sucker for sequins, so this dress literally jumped into my hands! (OK, not literally, but you catch my drift…)
The colors were awesome, but I just couldn’t wear this dress as is – even the amount of pattern/sequin/beaded trim is a little too much for me!
I’m going to work some magic to make this something totally wearable!!
I’m in full on summer mode right now! I know it’ll go back to feeling like spring next week, but for now I’m enjoying all the sun. I’m also that weirdo who loves getting into a hot car after letting it sit in a parking lot while I’m on errands. Today’s piece comes from the beautiful Carissa. Looks like she’s ready for summer too!
Marisa, I want to thank you for sharing your amazing creations! I’ve been working hard to lose weight recently, and your site has inspired me to revamp my existing wardrobe, rather than spending more money to replace it. The last time I wore this dress, it fit like a glove. That was 50 pounds ago.
Now it’s time to give it a new life!
Carissa, congratulations on all the hard work! You look fabulous and I’m just so ecstatic that you’re revamping all the goodies in your closet instead of buying new pieces. You’re totally right – there’s no need to spend all that dough!
Time to check out the project!
I don’t really have much to say about this lovely piece.
I’m thinking that this might have been an 80s nightgown. That petite pocket…what goes in there?
I’m crazy about the color palette…
…but the rest of the piece is a minor disaster. I plan on giving this Storm Watch 2013 a pleasant April showers, bring May flowers kind of makeover.
Earth Month continues!!
Today I’m giving away a little floral goodie pack that’s one half crafty and one half glam!
Up for grabs is a pair of costume floral earrings with a pearl in the center (they even look a little like heads of lettuce!) and a mini DIY pressed flower kit! How cute is this to make pressed florals for stationery or bookmarks?
To enter, leave a comment below with something fabulous you’d like to press (maybe it’s a Black Eyed Susan or maybe it’s a basil leaf) and a winner will randomly get chosen next week! (All the winners from the past two weeks will be revealed next week as well after a REALLY fun giveaway on Earth Day!) I just might have to have the winner make me a bookmark to use while I’m re-reading The Great Gatsby before the movie comes out on 5/10!
