Week 31: Paula
I’m finally on the ground!! After flights, delays, layovers, oh my, I’ve finally made it to Chicago!! I’m getting to spend some time with friends here as well as a little weekend bacheloretting with LG!! It’s my first time in this amazing city and already I’m in love!!
I feverishly worked on a bunch of pieces to bring along with me, since I wasn’t getting a ticket for my sewing machine to join!!
Only room for my book and my sparkly bracelets!
Today’s comes from Paula in Denver!! Red polkadots, awesome pearly buttons…but just a tad too big!
Week 31: Paula - Before
“I think I got this dress because the tag read ET VOUS and it felt French with the dainty and lacy straps. Go to Paris in this dress once you make it fit!”
Since it’s been a balmy 79 degrees, I wanted to rock sundresses on the trip, so this one was first up!
Week 32: Mel
It’s a red dress day for me thanks to Mel in Milwaukee!!
Week 32: Mel - Before
“Maybe you can use this for the 4th? The ruffles on the top of the dress are cute, but the rest is a bit lackluster. I wanted to do something with it but am moving and would rather you try, because I’ll pack it up and won’t find it until December

It’s been pretty hot (not as hot as the rest of the US, DCers, good luck in that 100 degree heat and those of you in Tulsa, OK…103, woo, welcome to the Century Club) so a sundress was what I was going to turn this into. Our Austrian fam is spending their last day here in LA and we’re heading to my fave sausage joint, Wurstkuche. I was given the legit pronunciation from my German speaking cuz…Wursht(with a rolling r)-kook-kay. Probably would have made more sense to learn this language instead of French.
Week 33: Adina
Oh boy is summer here!! Who else is sweatin’ to the oldies with me?? I’m going with easy, breezy right now and this fabu cotton dress that Adina in Albuquerque sent my way was just what this gal needed!

Week 33: Alaina’s NDAD Creation
OK, so the move has been more arduous than I had planned…full post pending Let’s just say everything that was ‘scheduled’ in the lovely blocks of multiple hours (um, Time Warner Cable, I’m mostly talkin’ to you…) didn’t really pan out in that specific time period, however I keep saying to myself…SERENITY NOW!! I always think of that Seinfeld ep. “Serenity now, sanity later…”
In the interim, Miss Alaina’s recreation is featured today!! Full on holiday weekend garb is getting prepped as we speak and we’ll be back on track soon!! I loved her outcome and am totally Alaina-izing a dress like this shortly.

Week 35: Leslie K’s NDAD Creations
Miss Leslie K from Michigan sent this lovely inspiration my way…
“It’s one of those ‘I’ve been inspired by New Dress A Day to revamp one of my dresses’ messages.
I adore this bias-cut, Carole Little dress that I’ve had since…drum roll please…1994!! I’m not one to hold onto outdated clothing (except for Halloween costumes), but I just couldn’t bear to part with this, even though I wouldn’t be seen outside the house in it.
