Week 18: Marisa Does Errands
Today was a bit of a holiday catch up day, which was actually fun, albeit full of traffic and not-so-friendly parking lot shoppers and horn-honking enthusiasts out and about!!
It started off at Starbucks with a Venti drip.

Warm and delicious!
Because I was going to be pulling a decently extended errand day, I treated myself to a hot beverage to tote along with me and it hung out close by in my vehicle’s cup holder.
I picked up a few last minute holiday gifts (ones that I didn’t DIY myself or snag on etsy), finally got to the post office, went to Trader Joe’s and got things that were not just ingredients solely used for holiday party recipes (because I can’t really eat mushroom bites and fondue for lunch and dinner…or can I??), baked cookies for holiday prezzies…

Cookies!!
…and continued on my holiday cards!

Cards & Sharpies!
A deep dent was made, but there’s still more to go. I’ll be chipping away little by little this week!
While home, I had on a few episodes of Martha Bakes on in the background and I became obsessed with the delish pizza episode…

Focaccia flatbread!
Oh my goodness, I wanted to make this, however six dozen cookies were on the agenda. I totally felt like a Mini-Martha
Speaking of Martha, today’s giveaway is one she’d approve of that will get the crafty, scrapbooking juices flowing!
Included is a Martha Stewart Crafts birthday candle craft punch and assorted mat pads, a pair of Allary scissors, and scrapbooking materials by the amazing Amy Tangerine for American Crafts including a day book, full of assorted pages to fill as well as sticky embellishments! (My favorite is the little sewing machine.) These will have you reeling in some scrapbook magic!

Day 19 Giveaway Goodies
To enter, leave a comment of a favorite DIY project you’ve created, or one you’d like to create below and a winner will get picked randomly tonight (12/20) and mentioned in tomorrow’s (12/21) post. Congrats to Hlzy7 who won yesterday!
Week 20: Miu Miu Copycat
So, I absolutely loved this Miu Miu piece when I saw it…

Miu Miu
…and then was shocked when I found my version which…wait for it…has a photograph taken somewhere, but is inaccessible at the moment. My old computer is in a bit of a tizzy and is getting some work done at the Apple store! This pic was one that was floating in the ether, and wasn’t backed up. I’m a bit crazy when it comes to backing things up, but there were a batch of new looks that were just hanging in iPhoto. So, for now, let’s just imagine that there is a big, long-sleeved polyester jacket, super boxy, down to my ankles in the print you shall see below. I’m reshooting all the newbie pieces that are in the Bermuda Triangle so this won’t happen again. PS, thanks to my dad for letting me steal, er, borrow his lovely silver Mac in the interim.
The pattern of the Miu Miu piece and the one I found was uncannily similar, so I wanted mine to look cute enough to wear out when it was finished, especially because it cost me one dollar!!
Week 25: Yelena
Hey guys!
Just a little update – things are going to get back on the regular in a little over a week. I’m in the final stages of manuscript-dom and will have everything submitted early November. You guys have been so awesome and supportive and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it all. I’m over-caffeinated…
…and I think my laptop has permanently fused to my thighs, however I couldn’t be more excited and I’ve become a pro in the bad reality TV department as it’s been on in the background while sewing my face off. Long Island Medium, who knew and where was she when I was living there?!?
Let’s just say that the final bit of November and all of December is going to be rockin. Lots of goodies to hand off, some home decor DIY-ness to unveil, and perhaps another theme week or two
Today’s piece comes from Yelena…
I found my first mu-mu Marisa and I’m sending it to you! I live in South Florida and you’d think there would be mu-mus everywhere down here, but I haven’t had much luck. I have found some great 60s pieces though which I’ve been working on trying to make them work. You would be proud
Anyway, I think you will be able to make this work. I will be taking notes for when I find my second mu-mu. Luck and love, Y
Yeah, I was obsessed with the print and loved the boho-ness of it except my crappy point and click camera decided to take a blur-cation for this one. Unfortunately I didn’t scope it out before I started working on it, so all I’ve got is this.
I’m turning this camera in friends for a very cool, used, SLR one I’ve found on Amazon…I’m definitely at fault a bit as I have butter fingers and drop things like they’re going out of style. The camera has most definitely seen better days.
Regardless of the photo, this is going to be perfect for fall and already, I know right off the bat I’m going to pair my chestnut eBaoots (eBay & Boots) with it.
Week 49: Oscar Week – True Grit!
It’s OSCAR Week!!!
Today’s piece comes from the Coen Brothers western remake with ‘The Dude’ aka Jeff Bridges…
TRUE GRIT!
I channeled my inner western movie/on a plain/earthy look today and began with this…
Time to find some grit and speaking of…grits sound kind of delicious right now!! “They say he has grit. I wanted a man with grit.”
Day 343. 22 days and $25 left to go.
I guess I was still feeling blue after yesterday’s ensemble!! I don’t have a ton of royal blue in my wardrobe, so when I found this I swooned.
I can’t tell you if it was because of the color or because of the awesome embellished roses at the bottom. Now these roses, they aren’t embroidered, they look like they were stamped on with fabric paint. Reminds me of my puffy paint t-shirt making as a kid…let me tell you, if I still had those now, I’d be going to town!!
