Week 19: Holiday Party Prep
Tonight was spent prepping at TT’s for the annual holiday party I’ve been so lucky to be a part of for the past 11 or so years – it’s the shindig that was started right after we graduated from college and has been going strong each and every year since. We all dress up, bring lots of food, and get to catch up with each other. It’s a treat and it just makes me realize how lucky I am to have such good friends in my life.
Annually held at TT’s casa, I went over tonight to her place to help set up. From the strings of lights that had to be checked to make sure they were all in working condition…

Lots o'lights!
…to the garland that had to be hung evenly in the ledge above the TV…

Draping Garland!
…we had our work cut out for us!!
Week 35: Joy
Hello nightgown!! This 70s number (and a few more…) came from my gal Joy in St. Louis…
“I don’t think I’ve seen you work with nightgowns before so this box should give you some finds to have some fun with. This wasn’t a piece that I wore, however I had my share of these in the 1970s. Maybe a bathing suit cover-up or a camisole? Go to work angel.”
Week 50: Tara
New week, new dress!! Today’s comes from the lovely Tara up in O, Canada!
“Today a fan/friend brought me a bag of fabric bits her mom was getting rid of. As I sorted through it I found this hideous dress. This is my bff holding it up…
So I’d love to send it to you and see what brilliant idea you come up with! You always manage to amaze even with the most hideous things.”
Well thank you oh, so, very much Tara. The before looked a little like this when I tried it on…
We’ve got some work to do!!
NDAD: New Year’s Eve Edition!
First off, I cannot believe that 2010 is coming to an end! I have to say that this year was simply incredible – it’s been a joy to put my creative self first and share it with you guys. I couldn’t be more blessed or lucky to have such fantastic readers. OK, OK before I start to get teary-eyed from sentimentalizing (it happened enough on Day 365) it’s time to get ready to party into 2011!! It wouldn’t be New Year’s without a fab dress and it wouldn’t be New Dress A Day if it wasn’t a dollar, right?
The outfit for ze festivities…
I’m a metallic gal so when I found this piece I knew it could work for the night. I also had another piece that I was going to use as well…in going through some of my mom’s pieces, I found this winner from the 80s.
Silk. Turquoise. Rhinestones!
New Dress A (Holi-)Day Week: Wednesday
