April is Earth Month, so I figured that it would be awesome to kick it off with a little green giveaway!
I keep reuseable bags in my car to have on hand for all the trips to Trader Joe’s and the farmers market I make – my trunk has a stash! I love carrying my loot home in them instead of using the paper and plastic options at the checkout, so up for grabs today is a fab eco-friendly bag by WeBe made from recycled agriculture sacks!
This size is perfect for quick trips to the store and is super durable, lined with fabric, inside pockets and a zipper closure. This bag used burlap coffee sacks and the cotton palm tree/hammock fabric up top feels like vacation!
To enter, leave a comment below of one of your favorite things that you grab at the market and a winner will randomly get picked next week! Aside from the basics, I always feel like I’m at Trader Joe’s snagging their chile covered dried mango. I’ve become obsessed with it and it’s the perfect snack for me when I can’t decide whether I want a sweet or savory treat. (PS, I love hearing what other people’s favorite TJ items are because they’re usually different from mine and it’s always so hard to branch out!)
Update on past winners…congrats to JennyRose (Paris clutch), Kit (sparkle nail polish/Tarte mascara), Ginia Magers (shamrock bracelet), Annie (LoopNYC wristlet), and Emily Bobo (rose goodies)!!
My Easter outfit was the bees knees, but you’ll just have to wait until tomorrow to see what I ended up wearing! Today’s piece was another ensemble I wore this weekend and I used a dress that I scored (and shot pre-red hair) in the fall.
I mean, check out the layered bib effect.
I did love the white/grey/navy palette, however the whole thing was just too billowy for me.
Time to work this dress out!
Susan emailed me her piece and the whole idea screamed warm weather, from the color to what she actually did. Check out her project!
I have been following your blog since I saw it on Yahoo, but even before I started reading your blog I had intentions of altering a turtleneck I was given as a Christmas present, 2 years ago.
I really loved the purple hue and the soft feel of the fabric but HATED the actual turtleneck. I don’t like any neckline that is right up against my neck because it makes me feel like I am choking
Will Susan just take it all off??
This dress totally brought me back to the 90s. A little bit Reality Bites. A little bit Kelly Taylor. A little bit not right to be worn in its current state in 2013.
I mean there was even a dangly pearl charm at the neck, attached to the lace!!
I’m not going to let this dress stay in the box with all my Melrose Place VHS tapes. It’s getting remade!! (PS, that box o’tapes got donated a bit back but yes, they definitely existed.)
So this little cold I’ve had has totally kicked my tush! I expected to be up and in action on Wednesday but that just didn’t happen. I’ve been taking a lovely cocktail of vitamins and cold meds, along with teas, juices, and water, and I’m finally feeling like this weekend will bring me days without coughing!! (Fingers crossed!!)
Since no remake was had today, I’m offering a little giveaway instead!!
The goodies to be scored today include a fab Tarte mascara, a pair of black floral studs, and a Color Club nail polish in silver glitter. Who doesn’t love silver glitter??
I know it’s spring, but I couldn’t resist going with some black and metallics – I’ve been inside all week, so I haven’t seen a lick of sunshine and it still feels like winter to me. To enter, leave a comment below of fun spring things you look forward to! Maybe it’s Passover or Easter, or maybe it’s just the extended days or seeing the daffodils pop through the cold ground… a winner will be chosen next week!!
I’m excited for getting more hikes in during the longer days…hopefully this will come true next week after my cough attacks subside I will be getting lots of pieces together this weekend to make up for the loss of sewing while I’ve been sick. I’ve been sleeping a ton, which has been so great – I think I’ve slept more this week than all year so far!! Thanks to all for the sweet messages to feel better too – you guys are amazing!!
Happy weekend, friends!!
