Audrey’s remake today was a piece she procured from her grandma, so being that it’s Mother’s Day weekend, I felt this was a perfect outfit to show! Yay for grandmotherly love!! Here’s what Audrey shared…
I’m Audrey and I love your blog! I actually read it every day, and it’s my dream to be featured on it! My latest sewing project was one on a dress that my grandma gave me. I loved the soft fabric and the black and white design on it but it was a size XXL, so I decided to make improvements!

I decided to update my wardrobe by taking some of my old clothes and turning them into something more fashionable. This was my first attempt – I took two shirts and a skirt and made them into a dress!

In just a few days, there are going to be some fun blog changes! You might have already picked up on some things that are getting tweaked! I’m super excited to unveil the completed, face-lifted, look that’s right around the corner!

Week 5: Christine’s NDAD Creation
Today’s remake comes from Christine in MI!
“I am so very excited because I finally finished one of my re-makes after following your blog for over 6 months DAILY! I have told you before in some of my comments on your blog that you are such an inspiration to many and you really pumped some excitement back into my life! I started looking in thrift stores weekly (we have some great ones here in Lansing, Michigan) and started several re-makes! I already was shopping at thrift stores often and when people would compliment me, it was so fun to say, “Thrift Store! $1!” Now it is even more fun to say, “Thrift store, re-make!”
So here is my project that I started last fall and finally finished. When I saw that the spring and summer styles were all about beige colors, I pulled it back out of the pile.

Week 6: Brittney
This dress was sent to me by Brittney, who was the lovely reader who crafted that knit rose for me that I wore a few weeks back… (Refresher HERE)

This brown dress was in the package she forwarded and this is what she had to say:
“A friend was going to take a bunch of clothes to Goodwill, and she let me look through them first. I didn’t find anything that I wanted to alter, but I knew I wanted to send to you. When I pull out my mom’s sewing machine, it’s usually to work on a quilt, make curtains, or mend a small hole in a seam. But I’m on the lookout for something I can recreate, and when I find it, I’ll definitely send in pictures.”
Week 6: Brittany - Before
It’s a super thin material with a ruffled edge neckline.
Ruffles have ridges!
The dress is a bit frumpy on me, so I have a few tricks to work out to make it out-of-my-house ready!
