When I came across this dress for a buck I just had to take it home with me. Thinking how coveted these were in the 80s I was looking forward to some adjusting!
What my Laura Ashley looked like in its past life, pre-pile sale!
My goal is to take it as far away from “Laura Ashley” as possible. I don’t want it to politely whisper, “Hello, my name is Laura Ashley”, I want it to scream, “How you doin’, call me Lawr”.
And PS, as much as I LOVE Beetlejuice and old school Alec Baldwin, I’m totally alright with leaving Geena Davis’ Laura Ashley number in 1988

Before I begin, let’s discuss how glorious it is the day after daylight savings where we gain an hour! It was like a holiday for me today. An extra hour of sleep?!?! (Cue the angels’ ooh-ing and aah-ing in the background!) I’m not jazzed about it getting dark at 5, however the extra hour couldn’t have come any sooner for me this year

80s in the house!! I loved those big ol’ buttons at the shoulders – that is pretty much why I got it! Kind of reminded me of the pins/patches that Janet, Miss Jackson if you’re nasty, wore near her shoulders during her Rhythm Nation period.

It’s Friday, it’s the beginning of a long weekend and I’m kicking it off with a little Earth, Wind & Fire action with the gang!! I’m an air sign, so I decided to go with the elements and chose a little blue.
