I was so excited about this, I just had to share!
I got a little shout out in this month’s (June issue) Glamour Magazine with Pink on the cover!! It’s filled with tons of cool DIY tips and projects…
…and Cindi Leive, the editor-in-chief, called me a “revolutionary DIY-er.” WHAT?!?! That made me gasp for air, totally blush, and get super giggly when I was reading it at Barnes & Noble. I snagged a handful of copies and made my way to the register so I could continue my giggle moments at home.
It’s on page 28 if anyone has a subscription or snagged a copy from their dentist’s office, and I have to say it’s an issue that you will get totally inspired reading – lots of amazing women are featured and I’m beyond ecstatic to be included in such fierce company!
I’ve been on overdrive this week – I got prescribed antibiotics from an infection that stemmed from my never-ending colds, I had my first post for Goodwill’s blog due (it runs on Friday and I’ll make sure to leave the link as soon as it’s live!) and I’ve been busy prepping a Copycat post! The post features this thrifted sweater from Target…
…and these bad boys…
I can’t wait for you to see what I’m making over!
Hope Thursday treats you well – tune back in for a new post tonight!
I became privy of robin hoods and the founder, Tracey Van Vooris, through one of my best friends and I just fell in love with what she was doing. It’s something that I really wanted to share just because I’m so proud of her following a passion to really do something incredible that will help people. Here’s her story…
My mom was diagnosed with a terminal, grade 4 glioblastoma which is a fancy term for “one nasty SOB of a brain tumor.” The prognosis was certainly bleak, with only 40% of patients surviving a year after diagnosis.
Fortunately, my mom is extremely tough and even more stubborn, and she is fighting this cancer tooth and nail. Despite the hardship, there have been many surprising and wonderful gifts that have come out of this diagnosis: a renewed closeness with my family, the cementing of so many important friendships and relationships in my life, and even a new business venture that I have chosen to pursue, robin hoods.
To be brief, after trying tirelessly to find my mom some head covers to mask her scars and hair loss, I was beyond disappointed at the lack of stylish, well-made, and comfortable head covers available. As such, I designed a line of stylish head covers (turbans, modified head scarves, etc.) under the name robin hoods (my mom’s middle name)…
…and I’m approaching the final stages of development before I officially launch.
I’m finally starting to feel better aside from some lingering throat issues, yay! It was project catch up by day, and Passover celebration with some of my favorite people by night! I ended up sticking to warm drinks (hot chocolate, check!), so no Manischewitz for me this year.
But, my mind was totally blown which I saw this!! How is this the first time I’m seeing chocolate covered matzo??
I’m taking a bit of a chocolate hiatus until Easter, so I will be partaking in this amazingness over the weekend along with copious amounts of Cadbury eggs. Oh, and my mind was blown when I saw this recipe on Buzzfeed for DIY Cadbury eggs.
This is definitely happening in my kitchen soon…just trying to figure out if I should wait until I deplete my actual Cadbury stash or just double fist it with chocolate eggs this weekend. Mmmm, either way I can’t wait.
New remake coming up later today!
