Copycat – Juicy Couture Nautical Hibiscus Sweater
Today’s inspiration all started here…
I was having a movie night with my pal BU and the storefront at Juicy Couture caught our eyes. We loved the sweater that hung in the window and had an immediate moment of, we can DIY this!
So, that’s what today’s project is…my version of Juicy’s Nautical Hibiscus Sweater.
To really emulate the essence of Juicy’s sweater, I wanted something royal blue to work with and found just the right piece – a Mossimo sweater from Target that I scored at Goodwill for $3!
Now that I had the perfect base, it was time to get crafty!! I started with some rhinestones (these larger ones came from Darice’s “Big Bag of Bling”) and Aleene’s Jewel-It glue…
…and began my copycat adventures!
Copycat – Anthropologie
I had another fun day of crafting with my girl Sonya Nimri, and we decided to try to remake Anthropologie’s Looped Buds Cardigan…
…because we had the perfect thrifted sweater to use!
The floral print kind of looked similar to this speckled knit sweater (from afar) so we decided to try to make it work!!
Copycat – ban.do Sequin Hearts
I’ve been a fan of ban.do’s sequined pieces, so I thought that I’d make my own version of their red sequined hearts today!
I started off with my supplies – red felt, sequin trim, and loose sequins, as I’m going to make two versions of these hearts.
Red Head Costume Week: Florence Welch – Florence & The Machine
So, my final red head costume finishes today… I wore this piece over the weekend and I brought it back out Halloween eve (last night) as it was the most comfortable one of the week! Plus I got to be a little dramatic.
I found the perfect vintage dress (I. Magnin!) with flowy sleeves, lace trim, and in an ivory shade that I thought would be perfect to channel my Florence Welch look. Wanna see??
Red Head Costume Week: Daphne – Scooby Doo
Costume week continues and today’s piece is inspired by one of my FAVORITE cartoons… Scooby Doo!
With the newly dyed tresses, I’m heading down the Daphne Blake (who knew she had a last name??) route! A few of the key ingredients to toss into this look are below…
I began with this purple dress that Stacey B. sent my way!! She said…
Marisa – Wow! You are one amazing lady. I am so proud of you and excited for your book to be done. You have brought so much inspiration, fun, and fashion know how to so many, especially me. Thank you for being a light in my life. This dress is a result of thrifting, and I enjoy the collar and color, but is too small for me. It would look great on you especially with some Marisa tweaks to bring it current

I love that this piece was just the right color for costuming today – time to make it ready for animation!!
