When I was growing up, my bookshelf was overflowing with books. You’d see a smattering of The Babysitter’s Club and Sweet Valley High paperbacks mixed with Stephen King’s The Stand in hardcover, a copy of Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales, along with some Beverly Hills, 90210 photo books thrown in for good measure. I was a reader and I’d throw myself into books no matter what they were.

To have a book coming out is pretty much blowing my mind and I can’t wait to actually touch it and sit it on my current bookshelf next to my favorites. (Oh, and do I still have a few of the above mentioned literary gems…you betcha!) It’s an emotional time for me and I couldn’t be more grateful for you guys who have been by my side this whole time.

    Marisa…I got the same problem as Sim below…help!! I am in Austria and a big fan – been on your mailing list for a while and can’t wait for the book to come out. But would the bookplate be coming to Vienna for me? I know you have quite a huge following and can definitely understand if you can’t accommodate the international fans, but, it just would be nice ;-)

    Hi Marissa!! Thanks a million for sending the bookplate over to Vienna!! So I ordered, filled out the form, and am waiting eagerly for my book and all the stuff I can learn from it. Before reading your blog, I had no sewing machine and always thought sewing was some rocket science way above my head (mind, I did graduate from an engineering school…). Now I can still only do basic stuff with my sewing machine, but at least I have some confidence in completing simple projects. Thanks for teaching and inspiring me to sew, and many congratulations on your new book!!

I was about to leave the house, so I had my husband drive so I could get my first look right away. It doesn’t disappoint!
