It's 2012!! I hope everyone had a celebrational New Year's Eve filled with family, friends, and an abundance of cheer and cheers-ing!
Post of my evening will come tomorrow, but in the interim, lovely Hannah has shared her holiday ensemble for all of us. Here's what she sent...
"Dear Marisa,
The other day I was making my bi-weekly trip to the Salvation Army thrift store for half-price Wednesday, and I picked up this blue beauty! I knew there was an adorable dress hidden under that lace collar somewhere!
The fix was easy. I started by ripping out the shoulder pads, then...
...trimmed the high white collar and lace off, re-hemmed the neckline, shortened the sleeves a little bit, and viola a whole new dress! I used the left over lace and a maroon-ish red ribbon to make a hair band.
I threw on a necklace, black belt, tights, and my favorite grey boots to finish it off, and was ready to go! I wore it to a annual holiday party with good friends and lots of food and is going to make it's return on Christmas Eve for the family Christmas too!
Leave a comment below of your favorite New Year's celebration! Because it’s the holiday weekend, the random winner will be picked and announced on Monday, 1/2/12. I'll still have a few more goodies to giveaway even though December is through, so stay tuned!!
New Year's Eve is also my mother's birthday, so I have fond memories as a lass spending NYE/Mom's birthday in NYC watching Broadway shows with adults. It always felt so glamorous - as a dressed up, pin curled, seven-year-old kid going on twenty - to spend the new year this way.
