Jes’ NDAD Creation

Mar 9, 2013 | 11 Comments

Jes sent in this fabulous blue polka dotted dress and it reminded me of a piece I just thrifted myself!  I just might take cues from her to get mine in working condish!  Check it out…

Last year, my mother-in-law and sister-in-law gave me a sewing machine, and I hadn’t done much with it over the course of 2012. I started running across blogs where the bloggers remade clothing, and it looked super cute!  I’ve been wanting to update my shabby and blah wardrobe but didn’t have the spare $krilla, so this was my ticket!

I bought your book several weeks ago and LOVE it.  This dress is one that I found at Goodwill for $5.00–I’m a sucker for anything polka-dotted!

Jes – Before

First off, I’m obsessed with those socks!  (“Black & yellow, black & yellow, black & yellow.”)  Second, I’m obsessed with Jes’ pose.  Great face – we’re all shocked too, girl!  What will Jes do with this polka dotted masterpiece?

I removed some length and the sleeves and that was it!!

Posin’!!

I hope you had fun on your cruise, Jes!  I love that you’re loving the book and found inspiration in it!  Just makes my day to hear.  Can’t wait to see your next piece and thank you SO much for sharing!  For more from Jes, click HERE!  (PS, you can see Jes in action wearing her dress on her site. Makes me want to go on vacation…le sigh!)

    Lookin’ adorable Jes. :)

I like this outcome. With just some minor adjustments of removing the sleeves and shortening the length, it made the dress more flattering and season-flexible. Oh, the styling possibilities! :) Well done, Jes.

Nice! But what happened to the cool socks? heheh

Cute new dress. This one had so many possibilities. I thought of making a peplum blouse, or taking the top off for a skirt. But your solution was just right for you. Young and breezy.

Love it with the cardigan. You’ve made a very flexable piece there.

This reminds me of a piece I’m working on right now. Also a blue polka-dotted dress, but I’m turning the one I thrifted into a peplum blouse because of the fit at the waist. That dress is awesome though.
