Silver Linings Playbook

I loved this movie and I loved Bradley Cooper’s running ensemble.

Coop!

As soon as I saw this, I just had to recreate my own version :)

I started off with a plastic bag and cut off the bottom with the drawstring.

Later drawstring!

Post-length-cut, I folded the bag in half and cut a little chunk out for the neck…

…and then got holes ready for the arms.

Arm holes!

Pairing this fabu bag with my grey Old Navy sweatshirt, I was totally feeling my Bradley Cooper vibe.

Me & Bradley are totally twinsies.

His was created not to make any noise while they were shooting…

Garbage Pail Kids!

…and mine crinkled with each swift glide.  (For those of you who have seen SLP, I even have my letter!!)

Yep, the letter…

I must say, I felt quite silly jogging around the neighborhood in my new ensemble, however then I realized that Bradley Cooper is currently nominated for an Oscar wearing the same exact thing…

Where’s J Law?

…so I quickly got over it!!

PS, this is the easiest Halloween costume ever…I just might hold onto this puppy until October!!  #H’Ween2013

You are fabulous, Marisa! Thank you for having such a perfectly wonderful sense of whimsy…..you make my day, often!

    • newdressaday

Yay, thank you Kathleen!! So wonderful to hear :)

  • Christine

Haha! You are TOO funny! Love it!

    • newdressaday

Ha, glad you like! Couldn’t help myself…

  • Desiree

Too funny! For some reason I did this when I was 6-7 for Halloween to be a “punk” in the “Thriller” era. Trash bag cinched by two diagonal belts (remember those?), leg warmers and a big, floppy bow in my hair. I thought I was rad. Aaaahh the ’80s.

I rocked this look when I went on a week long camping trip and it rained the whole time and I of course didn’t bring my raincoat.

  • Denver

What a blast! I have run numerous marathons and that is the “ensemble du jour” when waiting for the start in the wind & rain. You have a gift for choosing something so remarkably “drab” and making it your own. Putting the story lines and the emotions together from Silver Linings Playbook and adding your style and grace is wonderful. Continue on your journey, Marisa!!

  • Bebo

Stylish yet inexpensive. Very popular among the jet-setting “runners! Just a terrific Oscar sendoff, Marisa. Love your creative thinking & spirit. xox!!!

Lol, you can’t beat a good trash bag. :)

  • gzturner

Sorry but this reminds me of the homeless guy in town who makes his clothes out of plastic trash bags and duct tape. He wears them all year.
