Now instead of a remake today, I’m doing a little “Oscar Gift Bag” giveaway containing all LOVE/French themed goodies.  This is one I’d be obsessed with winning.  Wanna see??

The goodies up for grabs are…

1. Roger & Gallet Eau de Cologne in the scent Bouquet Imperial.  Ooh la la!!

2. Knock Knock Secret Admirer Memo pad.  Getting one of these would be dreamy!

Win me!!

To enter, leave a comment below of what your favorite movie of the year was.  Pretend you have an Oscar to give – what did you think was simply fantastic??  A winner will randomly get picked on Oscar Sunday, 2/24, after all the statues are handed out! (…along with the winner of the last giveaway!)  Now I don’t know if I can narrow down a favorite, but I just saw The Impossible last week (was really incredible) and I looked like this post-movie…

Salty tears, salty popcorn

I instagrammed the photo right after, but figured my Claire Danes cry face was something to be shared with all of you guys.  So is this clip.

New Oscar movie tomorrow!

Le Mis was AMAZING, i can’t describe how much i loved it.

  • BJR

My favorite of the year is ARGO.

  • http://www.facebook.com/myndie Myndie Turner

My favorite would have to be Les Mis.

  • http://twitter.com/marialeads maria eads

mine was les mis as well. Thank you for the chance!

  • http://profiles.google.com/bratling2 Laura Davies

it’s a toss up between Les Mis and The Hobbit. The Hobbit, well, I NEED the next part….

  • Boo

I just saw Argo over the weekend and loved it. That’s my favorite for now but I still haven’t seen Les Mis.

  • Boatgirl

    Les Mis, hands down!

  • Gail P

I don’t get to see many movies without my little man, so I’ll have to vote Hotel Transylvania! LOL!

  • Kammy

Out of the movies I did watch, I liked Warm Bodies. It was lighthearted and creative (esp how zombies manage to dream). Zombies are more interesting/refreshing to watch than vampires!

    • flaiz75

Totally agree. It was just what I needed after a long craptastic week. :)

  • Elizabeth H

It would either be the Avengers or Les Mis. They both had me glued to the screen in very different ways. The Avengers had me on the edge of my seat and Les Mis had me sobbing several times. And I generally don’t cry at movies.

  • Ginia Magers

Avengers and Words. I think that is the only 2 movies I got to see this year because of Grad school so I have a lot of catching up!

  • http://www.facebook.com/reina.s.smyth Reina Seaton Smyth

    Django unchained!

  • Mary L.

I really liked Cloud Atlas, didn’t you? I enjoyed trying to figure out which actor was who in each time period. I also like the idea of falling in love with the same person over and over. xoxo

  • Kimmy 510

I loved “Best Exotic Marigold Hotel”….a real gem!

  • Ashley

I loved “The Impossible” – the eldest son, in my opinion, stole the show and deserves an Oscar all his own

  • Valerie Bishop

Les Mis! Loved it beyond belief!

  • Cate

Wreck it Ralph; I was in a horrible mood before I saw it for the first time and I was completely cheered up by this movie. I felt like a six year old and I was having just as much as the six year olds around me. It was probably the most original movie I’ve seen in a long time because of how creative it was.

  • Amanda Davis

I was waiting all year for Les Mis and it was my favorite for sure! I got to go to the broadway show when I was like 12 and have been singing the soundtrack at the top of my lungs for-EVER….I really need a theater to have a “sing-a-long” night so that I can belt out all my favorites while watching without disturbing all the other viewers, lol….”Red! The blood of angry men! Black! The dark of ages past!”…lol….and I didn’t really think I could be more in love with Hugh Jackman, but yep, I am….swoon…

  • Sara Chatfield

So hard to pick, there were a TON of awesome movies this year (I thought way more than most years!) But I think I’d have to go with Django Unchained.

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=152000026 Alaina Smith

Les Mis was absolutely breathtakingly phenomenal! A close second is The Hobbit, for sure!

  • debbie

I absolutely loved sky fall, Daniel Craig is so cute!

  • jinkatya

I liked the new Batman. (:

  • Crystal Kemper

I liked Django Unchaned. My boyfriend is a huge Quentin Tarantino buff and we both loved the film!

  • http://profiles.google.com/mandakitty Amanda Barroso

    most definitely Les Mis.

  • Candice Gear

As a poor college kid, I don’t really have the time or the cash to see many movies, but “The Hobbit” was really lovely.

  • cinybells

I loved Argo. Suspense and comedy together always wins me over.

  • Guest

I thought the best female performance of 2012 was Rachel Weisz in THE DEEP BLUE SEA, and was disheartened that she didn’t receive an Oscar nomination. It’s a lush, beautiful and complicated love story.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Serena-Bramble/797253253 Serena Bramble

The only Oscar nomination that matches my own picks of the year is Joaquin Phoenix in THE MASTER. So I’m rooting for him to pull a surprise and be the dark horse winner on Sunday.

  • Maggie

Bridesmaids! Hopefully that was last year!

  • TMontana

And the Oscar goes to…Lincoln. The acting was astonishing -
Sally Field, Wow! And the story is still so relevant today.

  • Lisa Whipple

    Lincoln, Lincoln, I’ve been thinkin’…

  • WendyP

We rarely watch movies when they first come out, but we did make a point to see the new James Bond movie in the theater.

  • char

Lincoln was one of the best movies I have seen in ages.

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Meg-Rojahn/1229819066 Meg Rojahn

It wasn’t a full movie, but the Disney Pixar short “PaperMan” was the best thing my sorority sisters and I have seen in a long time. We all loved it.

  • Karen

My favorite movie of the year was Silver Linings Playbook. It was really good and very believable.

  • Lydia D

My favorite movie would have to be Pitch Perfect, because it is the first girl comedy that doesn’t have a ton of dramatics. It was also the funniest movie I have EVER seen.

  • Jen

The Hobbit. I Love Love Loved It! We don’t go to the movies much but reading all your comments has made be want to go see them all.

  • Pam

I agree with the Paperman nomination for short film. But if you are limiting it to the full length movies then Argo.

  • ElizS

Pitch Perfect and Argo… and yes I did just group them together :)

  • Maria K.

    — Searching for Sugar Man —

A true story of an American singer who becomes the Elvis of South Africa, and doesn’t know it. Great film — go see it! It will make you laugh, it will make you cry.

  • Vanessa

So hard to choose, but I would go with Argo! Great movie and a true story, what could be better?

  • marionL

I’m a huge Les Mis fan, it wins for me hands down.

  • Laura Whitman

Les Mis, for sure! Best. Movie. EVER. Cried so much during that movie. Haven’t cried that much since Harry Potter 7 Part 2. So many tears.

    xoxo,
    laura

  • ms. mary

I really enjoyed Silver Linings Playbook – a friend and i went on a whim the first night it was out and we were highly entertained! :)

  • carol

I have to give my vote to Argo. I’m not much of a film buff, but as they spent three weeks filming in my friends’ house, I’ll keep it in the neighborhood.

  • CourtneyB

If I had to pick just one, I’d go with Argo. I read a great article written by one of the men depicted in the film, and he said that while the climax wasn’t as dramatic as that in real life, it showed him what very nearly could have happened. Not often you get to see a “We got out by the skin of our teeth” scene from your real life.

Honorable mentions: The Avengers, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, and The Bourne Legacy.

  • Rebecca Leung

I absolutely loved Les Miserables! They are most definitely going to win several oscars.

  • Virginia C~

    Silver Lining Playbooks was great.

  • Sue

Don’t go to the movies much but loved MIB3.

  • Emily

ANY HARRY POTTER MOVIE BECAUSE THEY ARE THE BEST. Even though none of them came out this year.

  • Teresa

There were several good ones. I liked way to many. The Avengers Hotel Transylvania, Tyler Perry’s Madea Witness Protection Program, Twilight, Hunger games, etc. So I cant really pick just one lol. Wanting to see Warm Bodies also.

  • Kinsey

Argo was great, but my favorite movie this year was The Cabin in the Woods.

  • http://twitter.com/tennisstar2256 Sonya

Django Unchained- I just love Tarantino- Genius!!

  • Klyn

    Cabin in the Woods

  • http://www.facebook.com/emily.page.33 Emily Page

    Silver Linings Play Book!

  • http://twitter.com/beltainechild Rhonda Jackson

The Avengers was pure entertainment (and chock full of hot superheros – not counting Hulk)

  • http://twitter.com/inbetween_novel Shannon Foy

I LOVED Perks of Being a Wallflower and well as Moonrise Kingdom. Those two movies rock my socks! I realy wanted to like Cloud Atlas – I tired. #Sigh
Wreck-it Ralph was fantastic as well. My boyfriend and I have decided on these for Halloween costumes!

  • http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1244666159 Melissa Mosher

Django Unchained! Now pick me! Pick me! Pick me, please!

  • http://www.facebook.com/lisa.stanton.73 Lisa Vickery

Hotel Transylvania for sure! Very cute film :)

  • http://www.facebook.com/lisa.stanton.73 Lisa Vickery

Hotel Transylvania for sure! Super cute film :)

  • sunny

Moonrise Kingdom certainly did not disappoint!

  • Amber C

    I loved Silver Linings Playbook!

  • http://www.facebook.com/veejer Veronica Nunez

I’ve seen all the best picture nominees except Django Unchained (I’m not a Tarantino fan, but will try to watch it eventually), and Beasts of the Southern Wild (will hopefully see it before Sunday). Saw Les Miserables twice and didn’t like it either time. Amour is a really great story, but I didn’t like the direction. Argo, Zero Dark Thirty, The Impossible, and Lincoln were all fantastic! I don’t know who I want to win, but I think Argo will win.

  • jebandamy

Moonrise Kingdom gets my vote – there was something innocent, quirky, and beautiful about it.

  • Patricia Cisneros

I’m obsessed with Quentin. Django Unchained.

  • Mary Ellen

At the moment my favorite is Silver Linings Playbook. I am seeing Les Mis tomorrow and I suspect it will take first place. Thanks to earlier comments I will forgo mascara!!!

  • http://www.facebook.com/marypa2 Mary Petersen Anderson

    Les Mis!!

  • Patricia Wong

    Life of PI! Very touching…..

  • Jules

Moonrise Kingdom is precious, but Lincoln is epic and more Oscarish than any others

  • Bonny Ray

I am so far behind with all the new movies waiting to come out in Holland, I watched all the Harry Potters again, The Black Swan, since I am in rehab for my legs for the past 8 weeks. And Marisa I love ur cute crying face and your glasses, they look fantastic on you. xxes Bonny.

  • Zan

It’s got to be Silver Linings Playbook for me!

  • Kathy

Argo has to be the best.

  • Vanessa

    Moonrise Kingdom.

  • http://www.facebook.com/tara.koetter Tara Johnson Koetter

    History lover here. Lincoln.

  • coolcat

And the award goes to……………. LES MISERABLES!!!! This movie had me bawling 10 minutes into it.
