BEFORE

The After Look:

AFTER – 2

I took the after shot at my girlfriend JS’ casa and kept it pretty simple.  New styling gives this piece a brand new vibe.  Wanna see??

I went to Accessory Town and paired the dress with a few of my favorite essentials.

AFTER – 2

I wore a vintage velvety tiger print belt along with a pair of gold, sparkly DKNY tights (a Marshalls find – my fave spot for tights!) to bring some yellowy tones into the dress.

The necklace is a DIY one too!  I took a thick chain and pinned a sequined dove appliqué to it to create a fun statement necklace.  For this go, I wanted a little action going on up top!

Balancing Act!

I also paired this with a H&M cardi for when it got chillier (yep, it’s back to normz - 75 degree weather!!) along with a steal of a pair of booties from Cotton On.  No joke, five bones!  I even bought an extra pair to DIY.  (You’ll see that shortly…)

So here are both looks – super simp Look #1 and full of flair Look #2!

Outfit Rewind!

I’m loving going back and re-envisioning these pieces in a whole new light!  The before shot was taken about 2 1/2 years ago which is CRAZY to me!  Oh, the evolution!

Chillin’ on the stoop!

Belt, Vintage // Tights, DKNY // Booties, Cotton On // Necklace, Vintage with pinned applique // Cardigan, H&M (thrifted)

Oh, and that black spot on my shin?  Yeah, it’s not a bruise (shocker) it’s a big flying spider that only flew away once I flicked it off of me.  Super cute, eh?

TGIF!!

i really like this one, that is a good length for you, but–did you have to say the word spider? ewww! (lol)

  • MzHannah

Hmmm… I’m not liking the shiny tights with that outfit. The other accessories work . At first I wasn’t feeling this remake that much because it needed some merchandising. The length is great, but the shiny tights, belt necklace and red lips is just a little overkill for me. Love how you accessorized with a spider!!!

  • Paula

I agree, the tights are not my fave. Not really a fan of sparkly tights. but I live the other accessories. I think it really creates a fun statement. Have a great weekend. You may be in the 70′s but we are heading into the deep freeze for the weekend and part of next week. Please send some warmth to Wisconsin..LOL

It’s amazing how a few accessories really change the look! I love the addition of the belt and necklace! Once again you took it from ‘so-so’ to PIZAZZ!!!

  • Julie

I love your blog and read it every day, but I think it’s time you invest in a really good camera and take the time to take good before and after photographs. It really makes such a difference and makes it look so much more professional. Like I said, I love the blog and love your ideas, but the low quality pictures make you seem very amateur, which I know you’re not!!! :)

  • Nadia

I think the dress looks a lot better accessorized, but it could definitely do without the tights. Love your work though and thanks for the great blog!

  • Helena A.

UAU! You look so stylish! Well done! Kisses from Portugal!

  • carol

Like the sophisticated look with the belt and cardi. To those who aren’t up with the tights, I think it’s just the camera flash that makes them look kinda weird.

    Love it!!!!

  • Laura Whitman

I love how you glammed this up! It is just so perfect! I’m glad that you are doing some remixing – so great.

I like the re-looks. Do more closeup of the accessories…I would love to get a good look at that necklace.

  • Marie Roxanne

I like the gold tights sparkly look at night time! Gotta get me some of those! (can’t see the “gold” color during the day pics) You look like you are wearing nude ones, which actually looks great!
I don’t like it against the white skirt. (The night pics) Maybe it’s just the pictures, perhaps if I saw it in real life it looks different?
I like that the spider photobombed your shot! HaHa

Love Look #one. Would add just a wide belt and the booties from Look #two.
