Pam’s NDAD Creation

Nov 2, 2012 | 16 Comments

I just fell in love with this piece that Pam sent in because it started off as something very basic, something we all have hanging in our closets…

Hi Marisa – I started with a linen shirt that had been in my closet for a very long time.

Pam’s Linen Shirt – Before

I just went through my closet and donated a few pieces, one of them a long-sleeved black shirt from my catering days.  I could have repurposed it into what Pam did, but I think I just needed to purge it from my system :)  Check out Pam’s skills…

First I removed the pockets and then using a pattern I had, I cut a jacket front and back from the bottom.

I made little half-sleeves from the original sleeves and took some stretchy lace from my stash to make facings.

Now I have a new jacket that I’ve paired on top of my floral dress!

What a nice jacket! I have some older blouses I am going to look at in a whole new way! This one is a perfect match for the dress.

Wow, that took some vision! So very creative, and what amazing sewing skills you have!

That is seriously, seriously creative and cool. Thanks for sharing this idea. It opens up a whole new realm of possibilities for stuff you find that has a lot of fabric, but you just can’t see how to make it work.

Cute! And the shorter length on the jacket is more flattering than if you’d simply worn your linen shirt over the dress.
