48 Days to Go: Lizzy’s NDAD Creation

Sep 2, 2012 | 10 Comments

Hope everyone’s weekend is off to a smashing start!!  Today’s remake comes from Lizzy…

I was shopping at DI looking for a dress I had seen a few days prior when this blue little number caught my eye.  It was a little pricey, $8, I know… but I splurged ;) I always love repurposing things that have pleats already in them since I hate sewing and pressing pleats!

Lizzie – Before

It feels like a graduation gown-dress!!  I wonder what Miss Lizzy will do…

I decided the bottom of the dress would make an adorable maxi skirt!  I cut off the top, added 3/4″ elastic for the waistband, and voila!

Turquoise maxi skirt ready for summer!”

Did you dye this too Lizzy?  Or was the coloring different in the sun?  It turned out gorgeous – what a fab skirt for summer and something to wear with some boots for the fall!!  Love what you did girl :)

Adorable! The color is fabulous and it looks like a good fit. The only thing I wish you did was find a way to repurpose the top!

just different lights in the sun! But there’s another pleated number in the works that I’m gonna dye… its like an XXXXXL pink sailor dress :)

A quick, simple adaptation and you end up with a nice skirt for 8 bucks! Good job.

Makes a very pretty skirt and really shows off the engineered pleats!

Lizzie- Do you live around Utah? Deseret Industries is a great place to find fun pieces!! Love this idea!!

  • Nancy

A very nice midi skirt – maxi’s are longer than that.
I certainly enjoy all you do with the clothing your repurpose. You’re very creative.
