OK, so what do you adore?  Who gets the “je t’adore” compact in your life?  I’m a little partial to my new baby cousin, Alara, whose cheeks, just by looking at them, can bring a smile to your face!  She’s delicious and adore is the perfect word to describe her.

    I absolutely adore my 88 year old mother. She is a strong lady who has been through so much over the past couple of years due to a serious bout of facial skin cancer. She went through major surgeries and managed to keep her sense of humor and love intact.

    The cancer is gone and she is looking fine.

    Speaking of the Y, some of the members are too cold in the pool.  I’m wondering if long-sleeved polyester blouses could serve as a layer of warmth in the pool . . .

She endured Nazi occupation of her village in France, left her family and country as a 19 yr old war bride, raised 6 children, mourned the loss of 2 through miscarriage, stood by my father for 45 years, after his death learned to write a check to pay the bills and do what needed to be done. She has endured a cancerous facial tumor, a fractured pelvis and now battles the extremely painful disease polymylgia rheumatica and yet is always there for any of her children and grandchildren who need clothes altered or cookies baked. Je t’adore is the perfect phrase for my mom.

He is such a romantic….in high school he took French (quite impractical where we live) so that one day he could whisper sweet nothing’s to his wife. Unfortunately for him, he took three years and I took seven…it’s hard to whisper sweet nothing’s in a language you don’t know as well as the person you’re whispering to!

    J’adore my dog, who made me laugh until my sides hurt this afternoon. I was fluffing out a blanket to fold it at the same time she launched herself off the couch toward the door, so she ran right into the blanket and bounced backward. She tried to look angry at me, but she’s a white French bulldog with a cute face and pink ears, so she just ends up adorable.

    Oh how I adore my husband!  It is a rare relationship that can survive, and actually grow, working together and being married. Plus I have the added comfort of knowing he is my one and only and I can depend on him, proven to me when he saved my life.  4 years ago while sitting on the couch watching So You Think You Can Dance I went into sudden cardiac arrest (I was 27), my  husband after noticing I wasn’t responding and starting to convulse, he called 911 and started CPR. I woke up while he was on the phone and had NO idea what was going on, I thought I had taken a nap and he was waking me up by kissing me, but I couldn’t figure out why he was talking to a woman on the phone while he was doing it! lol!  He has stuck by me during surgery and my bionic heart, my 3 years of chemo and the horrible prednisone before that, and even tho I don’t really look like I used to and I can’t do all the things I used to do, he has always been my rock and my other half. I am one lucky lady and he never lets me forget it!  And of course I love our son, he is a character for sure!
    (sorry I wrote a book!)

    There is a family of raccoons that lives in the woods outside my apartment complex…i have been watching them for a long time now and adore the newest baby raccoons. The mama raccoon has been teaching the babies how to climb our dumpster to search for food…it is lovely to watch and my heart melts every time i see it. Some people complain about the mess raccoons make…i find the little scavengers endearing!

    There’s an old country song that kind of sums it up…I don’t remember the name of it, but it lists a bunch of things the singer loves, then says “And I love you too.”  He mentions little baby ducks, old pick up trucks, and rain, among other things.  :)
