119 Days to Go: Claudia’s NDAD Creation

Jun 23, 2012 | 24 Comments

I received a bunch of looks from Miss Claudia and decided to go with the below because it screamed summer!  Since summer has officially begun (woo!) this had to be featured.  Here’s what Claudia said…

I can’t remember exactly which thrift store I picked it up at but I think I paid a dollar for it.  It started out as a dress and a vest two piece and I absolutely fell in love with the fabric–the more far out there the better! The flowers and plants on the fabric reminded me so much of the little shop of horrors too! I loved it!

Wait, check out the fabric!  It’s amazing and something I would choose too just because of the bold colors and fun pattern!

Fabric Amazingness!!

I can’t wait to see what Claudia does…

With this one my mom actually used a pattern.  She usually just cuts here and sews there and works “mommy’s magic” as I like to call it, but she followed a pattern and made it into a lovely little sun dress for me!  I paired it with some cowboy boots and a green ribbon in the hair!

It is sooo comfy too! With such a fun fabric I knew it would be the perfect dress to wear to one of my favorite places, MacKenzie- Childs.

Layered look!

But wait, there’s more!!

There was extra fabric from leftover, so my mommy made a tunic…

Love this!!

…but as we started to run out of the red fabric, she just added in some pink fabric to fill in the pieces.

I hope you enjoy as much as I always enjoy seeing your remakes!! Until next time, all my warmest wishes for fun and creativity. Claudia :D

I would I wear these pieces like crazy, Claudia!!  I absolutely love that you and your mom worked on this together – what an amazing collaboration!!  The belt cinching the waist is killer and those boots!!  Thank you for sharing, my dear!

OMG I have a dress in the exact same fabric!  I bought the fabric new – years ago.  And just this year, I refashioned it, adding some hot pink paisley from my fabric stash.   Anyway, I’ve been a follower/admirer for years, but never a commenter – until now!
