125 Days to Go: TJ’s NDAD Creation

Yes, it’s Father’s Day, so I found it totally appropriate to feature this piece and story from TJ…

I love your website and wanted to share this picture and story.  When my husband and I got married I came across a silk button shirt in his closet full of holes and tears.  Since he could no longer wear the shirt I decided to turn it into wall art cutting a large piece off of the back, which was relatively undamaged, and put it into a frame.  It works great in our fantasy themed living room!

Shirt Art!!

I am thinking of doing the same thing to an old t-shirt with zoo animals on it for my nephew’s playroom.  Sure it’s not a “new dress” but what a great way to recycle and enjoy an old or damaged piece!”

I totally agree!!  Repurposing of any kind is awesome!  Doesn’t need to be a dress at all – take some amazing fabric from a torn or stained garment and frame it, staple it on canvas, or use to cover torn or dated chair cushions.  All you need is your imagination and creativity.

TJ, I can only imagine what your fantasy themed living room must look like!  I’m newly addicted to Battlestar Galactica and am on the Game of Thrones train so I’m sure it’s pretty fantastic :)

Ha! I just cut up a dress with amazing sun bursts in yellow, orange, and brown and framed them in four matching frames from Goodwill. They are now hanging in my living room and add a burst of color for a very low price.
