Today’s post is one that involves a very cool vintage dress that I didn’t have to do anything to! My lovely friends at the Randolph Street Market in Chicago sent me this piece to don to get ready for the summer as well as their monthly markets!!

I took the nude heels off for the sake of the photo, however my hands were a bit wet and slid a smidge on the railing. I was almost pool-bound in that dress.

[Seeing as though I live in Spain] I won’t be celebrating Memorial Day weekend in a traditional sense. On the other hand my mom will come home after being in the States for two months, just in time for my brother’s birthday! So lots of cake and catching up for me.

ooo… I LOVE raspberry sorbet! flavor AND color, lol =) We will be doing the Memorial Day tradition here in Lithopolis Ohio of the Fireman’s fish fry (yum!) along w/ the antique shops, various yard sales and yes, a flea market AND a car show! We always find great treasures!

Very cute dress! I’ve recently discovered a love of bright colors (especially oranges, greens, bright blues, and pinks). I used to shy away from them, but they’re just so cute and I feel so good that I can’t help myself My kiddos and I will be traveling from Dallas to Houston to spend the weekend with my sister, her husband and my parents. We’ll do a little grilling and will hopefully make our way to Galveston so that I can put my toes in the Gulf. It’s not the Pacific, but it’s pretty close. Hubby has to work, so he’ll miss out on the festivities

My memorial day weekend is a very special one this year! My parents, who I haven’t seen since Christmas, are throwing me a Graduation BBQ/Memorial Day weekend BBQ to celebrate my graduation from Harvard University. I am receiving a Master of Liberal Arts. I come from a very small town in Northern Vermont (only 500 residents) so my graduation is a huge deal to the community. All six of my siblings (3 brothers and 3 sisters) will be in the same place at the same time and I know my parents are thrilled to finally have us all together! My youngest sister is 6 years old and she is a true fashionista who has taken a strong liking to your blog!

It will be a truly wonderful weekend of food, family, friends and fun!

So my plans for Memorial Day are to attend a ceremony my friends are having to renew their vows. I was in their original wedding 24 years ago in college. I lost touch with them. Found them 3-4 years ago and they had 6 kids and their marriage was nearly falling apart. My husband, retired Army officer (and veteran of Viet Nam) will also march with a banner of someone he doesn’t know, but wishes to salute and honor.On Memorial Day my husband and I will attend a special Memorial Service of those who died in Viet Nam. I thank God that my husband is alive and well but there are many he knows that didn’t return. If you love the USA and being a free citizen, thank a Vet and remember those who gave their all for your freedom.

I’m meeting my mom’s cousins and their kids for the first time ever! They’ve been living in the US for over 30 years now, and finally found a time and place to get together.
My mom’s family reads like a town in a soap opera: everyone’s related in more ways than one! We’ll be throwing some veggies, veggies burgers, and for the older family members, some tandoori paneer (or cheese cubes) on the grill. Yum! All the while, we’ll probably be listening to the older ladies relive their youth, while comparing their kids to themselves.

Going with lots of friends and family to the mountains for a camping trip. My absolute best friend in the whole world is coming up to visit me for a weekend of thrifting! She is bringing up clothes that she no longer wants and we are going to compare, contrast, pick, fix, adjust, sew, and when inspiration fails us, drop it off at the local Goodwill. Then (of course) we will have to go in and spend hours and hours and hopefully come out with some major treasures! A girls weekend made in heaven (or in this case, Maine!)

Cute dress! My husband (a native Chicagoan) and I will be taking tickets at the annual Festival du Rendezvous in Vincennes, IN! It’s a 2-day historical re-enactment of Revolutionary War life and battles. Lots of food, Native American face paint, and wool military uniforms!
