Week 8: Bedazzin’

After getting a little bit of inspiration from Steve Madden and these puppies…

Well hello heels!

Well hello heels!

…as well as the gals at Honestly, WTF remaking Miu Miu heels…

Honestly WTF's Miu Miu's

Honestly WTF's Miu Miu's

…tonight had craft night written in rhinestones!!

My gal CS scoped out the the above version and went identical, purchasing the same Zara booties (on sale!)…

Zara booties!!

…and a medley of multi-faceted stones.

Clear stones!

I went a little more on the technicolor side, using a mix of 5mm and 3mm stones…

Stones & Glue!!

Stones & Glue!!

…and snagged these bootie-esque heels from K-Mart on clearance for $9.09!  (They’re there now and are actually super duper comfortable!)

K Mart heels!!

Glue stage came next!  We took toothpicks, dabbed them into the glue, put the glue on the shoe, and then added the stones.

CS dabbin'!

After a few hours of gluing…

Rolling Stones!

…we finished up with two super cute pairs of shoes to wear on the town!

Party Shoes!!

Party Shoes!!

CS’s are the Vegas booties and mine are the Mardi Gras heels!  (If I only had these when I was in New Orleans last month!!) This can work for any pair of heels that you might have in your closet too, especially the ones that have gotten nicks or scuffs on them – it’s a cheap way to go glam!!

New shoes!

Dancin' dancin' dancin'!

I’m looking forward to pairing these with something fun…

Full heeled-rhinestones!

Full heeled-rhinestones!

…because they’re multi-colored, it should be easy to match!

New heels!!

CS was rocking hers with rolled up jeans.  We were joking that we can only wear leggings and skinny jeans or dresses that are short enough to show off the shoes.

Looking way more expensive than they cost!

A fun night of crafting over pizza and homemade cheese (CS is a genius), catching up (you know, chatting about Dance Moms and Revenge – two total guilty pleasure shows), and discussing what to do for the next night of hand-craftery!!   Already anticipating the next one!!

My daughter and I love the show “REVENGE” ! I’m a little sad that we don’t get another episode until April :(

Lovin the heels on you girls. What a great idea.

    • new dress a day

Um, can we discuss Revenge? April just isn’t fair!!

  • Kissem37

    those are so fabulous <3

  • Paula

Absolutely FABULOUS!  Wish I could wear those shoes but bad knees require flats.

I have seen those and they are so fun!  Definite future fun craft-fashionista bucket list item!  Way to go!  I will have to keep an eye out for a pair like that to work on.

  • Lauraly

    I like that!

Love the addition on the shoes.  I wish I could wear spikes again.

  • Kathy

What a great idea and it seems easy enough.

  • http://jhip.blogspot.com/ Jessica

These are super snazzy. If only I didn’t fall over when I wear heels..haha

  • dosfashionistas

Great idea! Heels like that are not for me, but surely I could think of someplace else to put rhinestones on a shoe….Maybe a strapy sandal with glitz on one strap, or flats with glitter-toes (Bet my granddaughter would like that!).

  • Mundanerealism

Hey I just “pinned” this on my Pinterest and am getting tons of  ”repins”! fun!

    • new dress a day

      So cute!!

  • Carol

Super fab! Love anything that is bedazzled.. Makes me start to think about the possibilities on some purses I have.

  • Yellowbutterfly1979

LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! I have been looking for the perfect heels to do this. : )

  • PeppermintPattie

Adorable!  What type of glue did you use?

  • KAK2304

  • Lisa

love to find another closet Dance Moms watcher!!!!

I’ve done this with several pair of old shoes I otherwise wouldn’t wear, I call them Fullets… like mullets for your feet!

Business in the front, party in the back!!!

  • molly

Just an idea…you could probably totally cover up the scuffing on more beat-up heels this way.  I have so many pairs of heels that I’ve pitched because it was cheaper to get a new pair than get the heel fixed when the leather tore off it.

    • Anonymous

You could absolutely do that!!  Saves those heels you’d be tossing… Easy and cheap way to keep what you’ve got and those shoes are probably more worn in and comfy too :)

I LOVE Dance Moms as well!!!!!! My Friend and I always meet after work to watch on the Internet (we don’t have cable).
Also like the idea of redoing shoes. I have the most comfortable pair but they look scraggly. I am now inspired to revamp them.

  • simplefd40

    great idea !

  • simplefd40

    this. is. amazing.

  • Tennie75

So cute !  Why not do something similar with flats!  These are reminiscent of your googly eyed shoes!  (I liked those too!)

  • Mel

Cute! Love your booties. You should try out glitter heels and soles next time. :P

  • Nancy

What glue did you use? I’ve done this before and by the end of the night, a third of them fell off :( (maybe because I wore it out dancing…)
