Week 17: Erin

Dec 28, 2011 | 231 Comments

Today’s piece came from my gal Erin, who’s grad schooling her way through Kent State!

“Dear Marisa – Hello!  Long time listener, first time caller note!”

PS, best letter intro I’ve received.

Week 17: Erin - Before

Week 17: Erin - Before

“The muumuu has been at the bottom of my closet since August, at which I had high hopes of acquiring a sewing machine from Santa in the near future.  Well Santa has come and gone.  He ate the cookies, drank the milk, and forgot to put a Singer under the tree :(   I bought a hand held Singer Sew Quick in a last “stitch” (har har) effort to execute my vision.  Obviously, no luck.  It is now yours to do with what you wish!”

Before we begin, can we take a minute to check out this fab bubble-lope?  Love!!

Stellar packing job!

Stellar packing job!

Time to make this muumuu work!

Erin sent some extra fabric that she cut from the bottom of the piece, but I decided not to take the money and go for the car!!  (Holiday mode means catching some Price is Right/daytime TV…I was playing along, what?!)

I ended up trimming more off.  With my shears, I cut about seven inches from the bottom…

Trim it more!

Trim it more!

…and began to pin down the raw edges to create a new hem.

Pinned hem time

Pinned hem time

I opened up the neckline a bit with a seam ripper and next came the sleeves – I cut about half of them off.  I’m keeping this a tunic/dress and just want to make it more fitted to be layered over tights and a long sleeved tee.  The sleeves were too boxy and I wanted some that were just a smidge longer than a cap sleeve.  I trimmed, I pinned, and I stitched.

Sleeve tweakage

Sleeve tweakage

Once the sleeves were tackled, the hem and the body of the muumuu were taken down next.  I felt like I was playing my own little football game in my head…I decided not to be on my real team, the Jets, just because their performance wasn’t so stellar this past week, nor my fantasy team DJ Roomba because my QB Michael Vick has been too inconsistent and I’m officially out for playoffs.  I went with my TV team, the Dillon Panthers.  It was me, Riggins, and QB1 taking down this muumuu like they did the South Texas Titans.

Stitch it out

Stitch it out

I threw on my football shoulder pads paper thin, long-sleeved white tee, thick white tights (Benetton ones that I have no recollection of purchasing/receiving), and boots for an evening coffee trip (the warmth was amazing, the caffeine…well, I’m still up at 3am).

Week 17: Erin - After

Week 17: Erin - After

I actually ended up wearing the cardigan all evening to try and stop the runny nose issue.  Oh, clarification.  Not to wipe the nose with, but to warm me up to prevent the drippage.  Capice?

Cold LA eve

Cold LA eve

I felt that this brownish/reddish combo was rustic and woodsy – I even tossed another thick sweater on top.  You’d think I was up in Ohio with Erin instead of Southern California.

I’m a complete chocoholic.  My stocking was filled with those circular holiday Nestle Crunch and Butterfinger disks, chocolate reindeer Peeps (yes, they make those!) and SnoCaps (who’s coming with me to see Young Adult?) which made me a very happy camper.

Day 27 Giveaway Goodies

Day 27 Giveaway Goodies

To celebrate chocolate, today’s giveaway is all about it.  On the edible front, a Hershey’s bar and a box of See’s Candies Truffles awaits along with Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Lip Butter and a Mocha Rose gloss from the Rosebud Salve family (both, the best for making your lips soft), and a Philip B Chocolate Milk Body Wash, with a Chocolate Bath Fizzy for the tub.

To win, leave a comment with your favorite movie treat, be it Junior Mints or those delicious chicken apple sausages at the Arclight in Hollywood (anyone, Bueller?) A winner will be picked randomly today (12/28) and mentioned in tomorrow’s (12/29) post.  Congrats to Strunkette for winning yesterday’s Banana Republic fragrance!

Morning, Marisa! And I get UP at 3 a.m….:) Unbelievable how the mumu turned out so cute! I like popcorn, choc covered raisins and peanut m&m’s…the bite has to have all 3. Generally I whoof it down during the openers, too complicated while glued to the movie. Have a wonderful day!

  • Ashley

Love this transformation!  I love skittles mixed in with popcorn.  I guess it’s a good salty-sweet mixture.  Sounds weird, but it’s good!  :)

  • Jo holley

thats so cute! i love pigs in the blanket… there’s a place in my hometown that used to know my order on sight, i came in so often. alas, nowhere else makes them quite the same..

  • Alyssa

love the dress!!  it is really cute!!

who doesnt love chocolate?? Thanks for the giveaway!

  • Anonymous

I love that dress, very nice!  Call me a traditionalist, but I always go for the buttered pop corn at the movies.  We have a Movie Tavern here so margaritas are always nice too!

  • Laura

We have theatres here in Georgia that serve dinner along with the movie.  And I do so love their crispy chicken tenders with mustard on the side!

  • DinaB

I’m a popcorn girl, straight up- no extra butter please!

    Love the MuuMuu ReeDoo :~)

  • Lnoelle2

It’s not a movie without the popcorn.   But I will take the extra butter.

  • Rene

Favorite movie treat is popcorn, of course, with butter!

  • Jennifer Gaspar Schreiner

    Definitely Sno-Caps!

Hurray for another muumuu makeover!  They are my favorite. :)

  • Lucy

    RAISENETTES!!

  • Lynn

    Popcorn, absolutely!  Very traditional.

    Beautiful make over.

  • Kissem37

That turned out better than I thought it would! My movie treat was always Milk Duds- I’m a serious chocoholic and they were the only chocolates that lasted beyond the credits, due to all the chewing ;) If I’m splurging, I’ll buy the kids combo- candy, mini bag of popcorn and a small soda- decadence!

  • Deb

I like either Gummy Bears or Dots as my fave  movie treat, with a Diet Coke and sneak a bit of the hub’s popcorn as well.

  • Jesse O.

    Popcorn, extra butter

  • SashaDee

So cute! Love the pairing with white tights and boots. I hope Santa brings Erin a Singer next year! I’d love to know what her original idea for the dress was.

My absolute favorite movie snacks are gummy candy. Sometimes the bears, sometimes the worms, or even sometimes sour patch kids!

  • Dianna

peanut m&ms forever and always! yum :)

  • Lorelei

Its a toss-up – either Milk Duds or Sour Patch Kids, with my ever-present Diet Coke and maybe unbuttered popcorn. There is also a place nearby that serves the most amazing parmesan truffle frites – messy but unbelievably good!

  • Anonymous

We have an old-school independent theater in our small town, so all of the candy is very reasonably priced.  My husband always gets popcorn ($3) and I get a 50 cent ring pop.  The popcorn never lasts past the previews, but my ring pop usually survives until at least half way through the movie!

  • Karenclark508

Popcorn is the all time BEST movie treat.  I also like Mike and Ike’s as a sidekick.

  • Jocelynpagano

I am not a huge sweets fan, give me fresh bread anyday.  But, I do love gummy bears to snack on for movies.

  • Anonymous

I love my Cherry flavored/Coke mix Polar Pop!

  • http://profiles.google.com/mandakitty Amanda Barroso

    snowcaps!!

  • Sarah S.

I love to eat Sour Patch Kids with popcorn. The sweet/sour/salty combo is delish!!!

  • Julie Graves

I have to have buttered popcorn. I don’t eat popcorn very often because it gives me stomach issues, but when I go to the movies I indulge…tummy be darned!

  • RJ

    POPCORN!

  • PattyT

    Oh, yeah!  Junior Mints.
But I used to really like Hot Tamales.
Do they even make those anymore?

    • Margold13

      Hot Tamales are still around

  • Annie K

Goin’ Old School – Hot Buttered Popcorn!

  • Erin Marquez

Definitely popcorn.  At my local movie theater, they have one drizzled with butter and bacon!

  • Becky H

Yum! I love me some Reese’s Pieces!

  • Anonymous

Chocolate, couldn’t ask for a better give-away!  As for the favorite treat at the movies, I don’t really like the edibles too much at movies.  To me, the popcorn always smells way better than it actually taste.  However, you can’t go wrong with one of those huge concession stand drinks, especially if they offer free refills after the movie.

  • Savannah Fowler

I love eating popcorn with lots of butter. Yummy. Sometimes I will sneak in some hot cheetos and buy nacho cheese to dip my hot cheetos into.

  • http://twitter.com/zanyzaneta Zaneta Pereira

Carmel popcorn ftw!! I can’ t enjoy a movie without it :D

  • Tanya in Philly

I love the redo — very cute! If you were wearing it in Ohio today, you’d probably replace the tights with jeans. :-)

  • Vanessa

I’m an original Hershey Chocolate Bar gal.   Love it and it tastes sooo, sooo good!!! Can’t beat the original. :)

  • Scarlett McBrayer

Give me classic tub of unbuttered popcorn and a big old root beer.  BTW, I am lovin me some record breaking Drew Brees from our hometown Saints!

  • Katrina

Definitely Popcorn and Mike and Ike’s.

  • Laura

Popcorn with peanut m&ms tossed in, yum-o!  Love the color of the piece.  Very cute!

  • Margold13

Mine’s popcorn and m&m’s together MMMMMMM!!!!
Love todays redo, well I love all the redos. I have turned so many friends on to your site. Can’t wait for the book. Keep ‘em coming Marisa

  • Afg24

    sour patch kids!!

  • Linda

I’m with you….anything Chocolate!!!!  I like the Chocolate covered raisins because you trick yourself into thinking your actually eating healthy!!!  Yeah….right! :) Linda

  • Laura

I know that I could be disowned for this (My father works at Reese’s) but Peanut Butter M&M’s all the way. SO. GOOD.

Love the dress, very very cute, especially the color.

  • Mary Garrett

Loving the embroidery — and hoping Erin gets her sewing machine soon, poor dear.  Aah, yes, chocolate!  There were a couple of difficult years when I could have no caffeine, including chocolate — I’m so glad it’s back.  Junior Mints are wonderful, and there is something about movie popcorn — alternating the two would be perfect!

  • stephanie

    JUNIOR MINTS, ALL THE WAY.

I love to carry on the tradition my mom started with her best friend when they were teenagers. You sneak in a jar of cashews. Then you order a big, buttery bucket of popcorn and dump the salty nuts all over it- salty and sweet and perfect in a dark theater!

  • Ashley Byrd

I LOVE Sweettarts!  I also love popcorn, but I can’t eat it right now because I’m having a Crohn’s flare-up.  But I seriously could sit down and eat an entire giant bucket by myself!

Movie butter popcorn with gummi bears or hot tamales . . . not the masa kind, but the spicy/sweet cinnamon candy kind :-)

Winner, winner, chicken dinner! :)   Thanks, Marissa!

My favorite movie candy is definitely Mike & Ike’s. I’m a lemon & lime freak. I also can’t go without popcorn. I always sneak in a large cup of ice, too.

Gummy bears!  I want some right now!

  • Gamarho

    Anything chocolate…like you, I’m a hopeless chocoholic!

  • Cinak630

    non pariels(?) mm mmmm mmmmmmm

  • Anonymous

I’m a chocolate freak from way back. What did I ask my grandmother for my 7th bday? Hershey’s syrup. I’m not ashamed, though. My favorite movie treat is popcorn and Milk Duds mixed together. Yum…

  • Tollyfaye

That is super cute!! love the remake. . . POPCORN, Raisenettes, and sourpatch kids. . . Tonight is our girl cousin dinner and a movie, and I will wear some jewelry I have created! One of these days I shall work on a NDAD!

  • elise

it’s gotta be the popcorn, how can you go wrong with popcorn?
the caramel corn at the arclight is also a close second, but usually too indulgent.

  • http://cdocreating.blogspot.com/ Christie

cuutee. love it. and my fave treat has got to be a mashup of pop corn, junior mints and root beer on the side. ;o)

  • Laura F

    apple slices dipped in caramel!

  • Linda H.

My favorite movie treat has to be popcorn…or M & Ms.

  • Elise

I love red vines and popcorn and I miss the movie theaters in ny where you can get a hot cup of tea or a seltzer

  • Katie

    Twizzlers are my fave.

  • D5245d

    Black Crows and Popcorn!!

  • Queen Mommy

Favorite movie treat…it depends on my mood.  Sometimes Junior Mints, sometimes popcorn and M&Ms, sometimes chips and salsa or hummus and pita.  One can never go wrong with chocolate though.

  • Lia

Love the tunic, also chocolate happens to be my favorite thing EVER. I beg my dad to bring me copious amounts of Cadbury whenever he goes to Europe because I’m obsessed with the stuff.
Favorite movie treat is not chocolate, however, but soft pretzels and popcorn. Mmmm. No soda, though, or I risk missing part of the show to go to the little girls’ room!

  • Babs Loyd

The muumuu looks cute on you. Reindeer peeps were new to me. My old fav treat at the movies was popcorn and chocolate M&M’s mixed in. I got busted once trying to sneak in with a large package of M&M’s inside my purse. Guess I looked guilty!

  • Katie Raney

I always go for something gummy, like twizzlers of gummy bears. Seems like they last a little longer past the previews that way!

  • Bish Lawson

Cookie Dough Bites when I’m feeling indulgent. Raisinets when I am trying to convince myself they are the healthy chocolate! :-D

  • Valerie Satula

My favorite treat would be buttercream frosting or movie popcorn. Cute dress!

  • Ctstrong

I love butter popcorn at the movies, sometimes I dump in a pack of plain m&ms for a little sweetness

  • Lilo

Popcorn and raisinettes.  And don’t forget the watered down soda to wash it all down with!

  • Abyiss13

I don’t go to the movies too often, but when I do I HAVE to get soft pretzel bites with nacho cheese!  If that’s not available, then I always get SnoCaps…something about the chocolate and the white crunchy dots makes my tongue do a dance.

  • Karla

    Nothing beats good old POPCORN!

  • MarisaTT

I am a purist. I love the greasy popcorn!

  • Vivettesdance

    Junior Mints!

  • BekahV

Popcorn or nachos (if the cheese is good! :-) )!! I could eat my weight in nachos if it hits me at the right time!! :-P

  • Sewfun53-crafter

my favorite movie treat is definitely MILK DUDS!!!!!

love all the muu muu makeovers….you are amazing

Thanks for the inspirations. I’m 59 and couldn’t wear most of what you do, but I do love a good make-over and have done many – yours really have broadened my horizons in what to do with necklines and some other things…

  • maria novajosky

chocolate covered raisins … without a doubt:))

  • Lauraly

Omg the re-do is totally adorable!

  • Gail P

Movie theater popcorn with tons of artery-hardening butter!!!  And a box of Mike and Ike’s for the sweet tooth portion of the program!!  Yum!!

  • http://www.facebook.com/people/Erin-Andreani/7710502 Erin Andreani

Ah! I’m so excited to see my muu muu featured!! I’m pretty sure this is my 15 minutes of fame. :) You did just what I would have done… if I could have done it! Thanks for using my piece!

As for the fave movie treat: It’s a pack of sour patch kids with a small popcorn and a pop. The soury-sugar from the kids is countered by the salt from the popcorn which is washed down by a sugary drink. It’s what is meant by the circle of life, I think.

    Thanks again, Marisa!!

  • http://www.thatuncomfortableitch.com/ Heather C.

Love the re-do! So cute! I’m a fan of Hot Tamales and/or Dots. Nothing high quality for me.

  • Carol

When I’m feeling good I sneak in a cut up apple, nuts or other healthy treat.  When I’m feeling bad it’s got to be popcorn — but with a diet soda!

  • Laura M.

    It’s a toss-up between Milk Duds and Dots….sometimes BOTH!

  • MichelleH

Other than popcorn, my fave movie treat is Twizzlers. Not really sure why…but something about movies demands them! I’m also a fan of Recces Pieces – I’ll have both if Dad is buying. :)

  • Jesica

It’s definitely popcorn for me.  I typically just take out a loan and buy it there.  But, I have been known to buy a bag at Target, dump it in a Ziploc, and sneak it in in my gigantic purse.  They still got some of my $, though, because I had to buy a soda to go with, of course!

  • Cloverk13

    Twizzlers all the way!

  • Tchezarae

Red Vines are my favorite, but I end up fighting my daughter for them.

  • Hannah

Reese’s PB cups that I smuggle into the theater. I love bringing in contraband.

Or, at one of those movie-pub places, a nice beer.

  • Kim J

I love either Butterfinger bites or (frozen) Junior Mints, depending on the weather.

  • Anonymous

My favorite treat is kettle corn! I make it on my stove in a big pot and it’s better than anything else!

  • Mother of the Wild Boys

Red Vines..but only if they are soft and super-fresh!  :)

  • BradleyLL

1 thing must always accompany me to a movie. A big dill pickle! The saltyness and the sourness are the perfect combo!

  • Erica Newhart

I used to love to either get Sno-Caps or Raisinets, but now it’s usually just popcorn with light butter and bottled water that I sneak in!

  • Lorilotz

Lemon Drops – and I don’t think I’ve eaten them anywhere but in a movie theatre… don’t know why.

  • AubreySwanson

    I always loved Reese’s Pieces!

  • Faeryqueen21

I’m a simple girl who has to have her popcorn and Diet Coke. Just saw Breaking Dawn last night at the $3 theater in Pasadena and lets just say, I was happy I only spent $3 :D

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_US5X6LSAOL2DMAX6MS5LMNOAGM Lizzy

    My favorite is probably popcorn

  • Tagati

Luv the popcorn. I usually buy the huge one with the free refill so I can have the bucket filled up after the movie (the dogs luv the treat as do the wildlife around the cabin!).

  • elledee

Popcorn with real butter, and salt, too – my very own bucket, and a challenge to make it last through at least half of the movie! LOL

    • rojopaul

My husband waits through all the previews before he even takes ONE BITE of popcorn.  Then there’s me … mine is just about gone by the time the movie starts.  I have NO will power.  haha

  • Cait

Love the creation!. My favorite movie treat is Sour Patch kids. I LOVE those things. I leave all the yellow ones to eat last as they are my favorite.

  • Hlzy7

TWIZZLER’S!!!  they are awesome and I love them not just at the movies but especially at the movies!

  • zah

popcorn with reese’s pieces – try it!

  • Sb31463

You can’t go wrong with Popcorn :)

  • http://twitter.com/semprini Nikki Lariosa

I say either popcorn or pretzel m&m’s

  • http://cupcakemuffin.blogspot.com/ Sara

    Those mini butterfingers! :)

  • Jess R.

    Gotta be Sno-caps!!!!

  • Kimcollings2006

Popcorn is mandatory and junior mints are semi-required

  • luciaburnett

    Popcorn, always, the best!

  • Shandee

Raisinettes or Milkduds… all the way!

  • beetree

Always make myself sick on the red vines- i can’t help myself!

  • Domedreamer

Sno-caps.  I have developed a Pavlovian response to them after seeing a particular movie 47 times in the theater, and now whenever I watch the video I crave them at a certain point in the movie (I don’t usually open my candy until well into the movie).
Nice job with the muu muu.  I didn’t think this one had much potential, but it ended up pretty cute.

  • Sarah T

I love peanut M&Ms, but I also recently discovered that my local AMC has amazing pretzels I never thought them capable of having!

  • Kinder Teacher

First I want to thank you for posting everyday like the old times…I look so forward to seeing what you come up with…love your creativitiy!  Second my all time movie fav is hot buttered popcorn with a box of raisinettes thrown in and tossed around…delish!!!!

  • Toni Daley

    A plain hotdog and raisinettes!

  • Anokhy D

Definitely Dibs (especially at the AMC on the Promenade.) :)

  • Haley

Definitly an Icee.  A blue razberry one.

  • Elizabeth S

    supeeeeer buttered popcorn

  • Dani

    snow caps are my fav!

  • Emily Duncan

    Twizzlers!!!

  • Paula

Thanks for such an amazing month.  It’s been nothing but fun.  I have enjoyed the comments from all your readers (got some good recipes also).

My favorite movie treat is popcorn with extra butter.  Even better the next day, we always refill before leaving the theater.

  • Zouzous_petals

I love, love, love the giant dill pickles that some theater snack counters offer.  The fact that they are room temperature makes them so much better.

  • Tamara

Popcorn with plenty of buttery drizzle

  • Janel G

I have always loved Chunky bars. Raisins, peanuts and chocolate. You just can’t go wrong with that combo!

  • edna marisela

luv the outfit!!  !my fav was always a bag of  peanut m&ms dunked into the popocrn yum…but its been a few years(eating healthy now)

  • Andrea Cutts

I couldn’t think of a snack I like in the theater, because I haven’t been in forever, so I scrolled through the comments to get an idea. Big mistake!! I love so many! I suppose I’d go with Junior Mints, because I love me some minty goodness, but Snocaps and M&Ms are also delicious.

  • ECret

My favorite movie treats are ones I’ve just discovered are available in those special dinner-drink-movie theaters. For instance, back in May, my cousin and I enjoyed Bridesmaids with Pino Grigio and a cheese plate–exactly the way it was meant to be seen. If only the theater sold cupcakes baked in melancholy, it would have been perfectly themed! And don’t underestimate the value of a glass of red with The Lion King in 3D!

  • Alicia

hmmmmmmmm i love buttery popcorn, peanut m&ms and a soda..

  • Broncosfan74

My favorite movie treat is popcorn dipped in nacho cheese sauce.  Yum!

  • Haley

Half coke, half cherry icee, and popcorn with lots of butter! ;)

  • Anna

Popcorn!!! I love popcorn all the time but the movies most perfect place for it.

  • Ladyd Gonzalez

I always used to get a box of Jordan almonds but in more recent years the theaters have gotten a bigger variety of things like white chocolate chip, macadamia nut cookies, those curvy doughnuts, krueller? Ooh and those ice cream bon bons Dibs. I always go for the sweets!

  • Connie Wen

Popcorn. Popcorn, popcorn, popcorn. (Which, as we all know, is half finished before the movie even starts. *le sigh*)
Oh, and Sour Patch Kids. Candy is always delicious while watching a movie. <3

  • Angie

Cute dress! My mom’s and my favorite treats at the theater are junior mints eaten with a handful of popcorn. Sounds weird, tastes delicious!

  • Tink869

How do the things you create wash?  Can you wear the outfits over and over?

  • emmajeane

I love M&M’s for the movies!

  • Ashley Mathieson

My favorite is also Junior Mints!

  • Jleary Rn

    Reeses pieces! :)

  • JenniferRose

Love that outfit! I love when I find clothes that I don’t remember, it’s the high of shopping without spending any money!

As for movie snack, I’ve always been addicted to Cookie Dough Bites.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_7KX5H7M33VD2GM5EXTYH6DZCPA JessicaG

I’m a sucker for good ol’ buttery popcorn. But I usually smuggle in some kind of chocolate candy — most often a Twix or Kit Kat. :)

  • Emily Jencson

Love the tunic/dress :) My fav. movie treat is Reeses pieces or sour patch kids. :)

  • Ida Mae

Good job on the renovation of the long Muumuu!  I can’t believe we actually loved wearing the Muumuu back in the day! My favorite treat is a raspberry slushie, along with an extra large popcorn (refillable) with tons of butter! Normally I don’t indulge in all the butter, but it is a “must have” while watching a movie! I usually “fast” in the morning with just a cup of black coffee (we roast our own beans) and then go to a matinee and consider the buttery popcorn both my breakfast and lunch!  Since I have made it to the ripe old age of almost 69, I have to say I am a healthy woman in spite of my once in a blue moon indulgences at the movies!

  • Lindsay

Reeses pieces or peanut butter m&ms! :)

  • Wendi_ladi

Junior Mints and Popcorn are the perfect movie going treat. It’s a good thing I don’t go to the movies very often because I feel like I have to finish everything before the movie is over and none of that is healthy.

  • Mimiofthree

    definitely milk duds!!!!

  • Virginia

I mostly stick to a diet soda, or else I’ll eat a million calories without even noticing it!

  • Emily

    Gummy Bears!

  • Angel2j

Truffle popcorn.  The best, I tell you.  ;)   Just regular popcorn with a little white truffle oil and a sprinkle of truffle salt.  Happy movie-watching!
(Oh, and the dress is adorable.)

  • Eliza Barger

    junior mints are my fav!

  • B_sndbrg

I love Milk Duds but I get annoyed when they stick to my teeth. Of course that happens a lot with caramel, so I usually go with cookie dough bites. :)

  • Kaye

    Twizzlers! :-)

  • Astan8

    Popcorn with Jr. Mints!

  • Rainn

I can’t watch a movie without Red Vines. I never eat them any other time.

  • Dannys_chikmunk1

Totally have to have gumdrops mixed in the popcorn…… Totally sweet and salty…. And the best part is that all five on my little munchkins love it too.
FWIW, That dress is uber cute.

  • Momlovesdeals

    I love popcorn!

  • Sonyracer13

My fave movie treat extra butter popcorn with junior mints mixed in so it is yummy and gooey!!!

  • Kayla K

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE twizzlers!!! I can never get enough at the movies. Oh, and of course POPCORN with extra butter!! YUM!!

  • Ashettles

My favorite used to be Dots but I can’t take the sugar so I now enjoy popcorn.

  • PupuleBarbi

Love what you did with the muumuu! My favorite movie theater treat are nachos followed by Junior Mints! And then I steal some popcorn from my movie buddy!

  • Jessica Humphrey

My favorite treat is good ole popcorn with butter.  A special treat I only indulge in at the theater!

  • Julie Hallqvist

Twizzlers fresh and soft from the package are the best.  Now I want some!

  • Jill M

Strawberry Twizzlers…Twizzlers, NOT Red Vines! EWWWWW :)

  • Anonymous

Good N Plenty – but very hard to come by in theatres these days.  crunchy pink or white candy coating, chewy licorice insides!  good and good for you!

    • Chrissy

Hey, if you live near a Trader Joe’s, they’ve just started selling their version of G & P that aren’t dyed with any artificial colors AND (IMHO) taste much better and fresher than the originals!  $1 buys a big box.

  • Giniamagers

Twizzlers & Popcorn & Diet Soda!

  • msKat

I worked at a video rental store back in 2000;  folks constantly came in and got the popcorn bucket and either Goobers or Raisinettes to go with their movie. One day someone mentioned how they popped the popcorn then dumped in the candy and shook it all up. Of COURSE, I had to try it! Until I found out years later I was allergic to corn, hot popcorn w/Raisinettes (and lots of napkins) was my absolute movie favorite!

I can’t get enough mashed potatoes or pecan pie. Holiday treats that I can never be sick of! Plus, Welsh Rarebit, a traditional Welsh sauce that’s delicious on Saltine crackers (it’s simple recipe - tomato soup, cheese and flour… add beer to be more traditional and just as delicious!).

  • Victoria M.

My favorites are the Bunch a Crunch (the little Crunch pieces) and cookie dough bites!

  • Carleton Deb

I know it sounds weird, but if you mix milk duds in with your popcorn and they get all melty….it is the perfect combination of sweet and salty.  It is a must try.  Yum!

  • Chrys

    Reeses pieces and popcorn!

  • Mary

Junior Mints here too! Or, if I’m feeling healthy, I will bring a bag of baby carrots… dorky, yes, but none of the guilt :)

  • Carol K

Popcorn! with extra butter. ooooh I like the idea of mixing Milk Duds in with the popcorn.

  • Angels_envy

my favorite movie snack is dipping dots.  they are my favorite for everything tho. :)

  • VioletRays

I’ve had Jr. Mints every time I go to a movie since I was a teeny-tiny and I do not plan to stop anytime soon! My sister and I used to hold the boxes between our legs to melt them though the previews and then rip the box open and scoop out the contents during the movie. Why our parents ever took us out is beyond me!

  • Barbara

    Good and Plenty….of course!  Hahahaha!

  • Jat

I love Sugar Babies the best, but the old popcorn standby is always good too. :)

  • Barbara

OH…..and BonBon’s (yep!  dating myself!!  LOL!!)

  • Kathe Gardner

Popcorn!  With tons of butter!  And Jr. Mints which usually go home with me.  (I don’t go to the movies much so I can indulge a bit.)  And of course the big drink of soda (and hope there is an intermission in the middle of the movie).  See’s Truffles is my most favorite chocolate of all.  I get to purchase here at Christmas time as they put a kiosk in the major mall here in town every year.  Otherwise they have to FedEx to me.  I have been a silent admirer of your work – amazing and such a talented imagination.  Thanks for your inspiration.

  • Tina

I will always want M&Ms with my popcorn!!!

  • Chrissyliz99

Well here’s the thing.  I used to see SO many movies…anything indie or foreign…that I got out of the habit of ever eating or drinking at the flix.  BUT, when I lived in San Francisco for a year, there was a movie theatre in Chinatown that (1) showed Hong Kong comedies (with English subtitles) every Saturday at noon for a buck and would also let you bring in and consume ANYTHING during the show.  I was young and very poor but Chinatown offered great, cheap and authentic (if you knew which side alleys to go to) food and I found that I could get a to-go box of chow mein AND eat it while watching a$1  film for under $5 all-in so this was something I did three out of four weekends.  So yeah, my favorite thing to eat at the movies is chow mein!  It’s just very difficult to find a place where this is allowed nowadays.

  • CarJoy

    I love Reese’s Pieces!

  • http://twitter.com/twinkietwin94 Kelly Davis

for a movie gotta have the popcorn, and when I go with candy I get Milk Duds or Raisinets

  • LeeAnn

Red licorice.  Popcorn used to get caught in my throat, setting off a coughing attack so I preferred to stay away from that.  It really stinks to have to leave the show due to coughing!

  • Sue

A nice tub of buttered popcorn (and I want lots of butter), and some Hershey’s Kisses.

That muumuu looks so cute after you got hold of it. Nice job.

  • kam13

Popcorn (w/o the fake buttery stuff), and raisinettes ….the hope is that the gooey raisins will yank the popcorn kernels from between my teeth….but major brushing/flossing afterward is a must!

  • Vikkiy2003

    Wow that is really cute.

  • vickie may

Popcorn with extra butter seasoning and then the junior mints…

  • Hatlady1962

Cherry Coke, buttery popcorn, and peanut m&m’s!

  • Taylor

Popcorn… I will keep eating it until I’m sick because I love it so much!

  • Maureen

    Such a cute outfit!
I’m fond of snow caps of late!

  • Candice Gear

The only things I need to watch any movie at all is a package of Reese’s Pieces and a cup of Cherry Coke. I’m easy to please :)

  • Nicki

    Twizzlers!!

  • Lovestosew

Wow, you made a sweet, little, babydoll dress.  That’s so cool!  Love it.

I’m a popcorn person. If I make it at home, I love to season it with my own special blend, which includes a little salt, cracked black pepper, and crushed garlic flakes.  Sometimes, I like add a dash of hot sauce to the butter.

  • Debby G.

Favorite movie treat is Milk Duds!

  • Bonnie

So boho chic! Love this one.
Buttery popcorn, diet cola, sour worms. Yum.

  • Hannah W

I love Junior Mints!!! Those, and Butterfingers, are the way to go!

  • Erin

Hot Tamales are the best!  And if you hit up a bulk candy place before the movie and smuggle it in… even better!

  • Colleeniec

My favorite movie candy is Milk Duds! I loooove those things! I buy the mix bag every Halloween and then pick all the milk duds out for myself. <3

  • http://mymadeupstory.blogspot.com/ My Made Up Story

I always get popcorn and a cherry icee at the movies.

  • http://polkadotsbuttonsandstripes.wordpress.com/ Galia

Definitely popcorn. I know, boring, but I prefer something savory to munch on and popcorn is perfect. :D

  • Pam

Definitely a giant popcorn and Diet Pepsi.

  • Fotofemme1

M&M’s are the best.  Maybe a few pretzels thrown in.  Of course See’s is great – my uncle used to always get me a box at the mall in LA – yum!

  • Anonymous

My favorite movie treat is really just the movie popcorn and Reece’s Pieces..yummm.

  • Suri H.

Raisinettes and nachos. Need sweet and salty!
I love your creations, wish I knew how to sew.

    Suri

  • Irene Lee

    sourpatch kids!

  • NumberSix

Buncha Crunch.  I love Nestle Crunch bars, but for some reason I always want the bite-size version at the movies.  Maybe because they’re like popcorn.  I never want them any other time, either.

  • Hillaryx3

junior mints mixed with my buttery popcorn! yummmmmm!!

  • Lisa F.

My favorites are Reeces Pieces., I would eat those all day if I could :)

  • sopclarinette

Milk Duds on my popcorn. I buy the small ones and just keep getting refills so the chocolate melts on top. And don’t forget the massive Dr. Pepper.

  • Suvikki from Finland

    Love it!

  • Til

    Junior Mints all the way!!!

  • Colleen Lindsey

my favorite movie treat is anything that I can stash in my purse…..preferably chocolate themed.  And in great abundance.

I have to admit I had my doubts on that one, but it ended up completely adorable. I’ll give the muu muus a second glance next time!

  • http://patricerosehill.blogspot.com/ Patrice Hill

Wow you pulled that off great!
