I just want to tell you all how amazing it has been reading all the comments that were left on the last post! There were tears (yup, I was a-cryin’), smiles, and actual laughs out loud that just really made my day. I am overjoyed with everyone’s support and just so excited to get next year in place!
For those of you who wanted a gallery of looks from the beginning all the way to the end…guess what?! You got it!!
It can also be found at the top of the page as well and starts at the very beginning of the year…all the way back to Day 1 Have fun scrolling!
Let me just begin by saying how painful it was writing today’s title!! I can’t believe this day has arrived. It literally seems like just a few short months ago that I began this journey and today it’s coming to an end. More nostalgia in a bit, but let’s just get to the piece.
I’ve known for awhile what I wanted to do for my last piece but didn’t have the right foundation to create it until I came across this skirt. Bigger at the waist…
…and a lovely navy complete with small red flowers that made up stripes.
Now, like I mentioned, this was the foundation of the piece. During my yearlong journey, I kept all the remnants from the creations leaving me with a whole lotta fabric! Joann, Michael’s, Hancock Fabrics…you ain’t got nothing on me!! I really wanted to incorporate the remnants into my final piece somehow – the blog is my virtual journal and the fabric is the physical one – so I decided to cut hearts from what I was left with from the year.
And Part Two of Day 364 has arrived!! When I returned from Santa Barbara yesterday, I headed over to NK’s to do a little footballing. USC (my non-bowl eligible team) was playing Notre Dame and I just had to root against our archrivals, the Fighting Irish.
My outfit for the day were these lovely puppies.
Some dude’s hypercolor shorts!! Slightly reminiscent of these Vineyard Vines‘ ones…
I loved the batik look and loved that it also had my school’s cardinal and gold splattered all over.
No shorts for me though…it’s skirt transformation time!!
Since I’ve got an extra buck in my pocket, i thought my second to last day should utilize the excess dollar…consider this part one of Day 364!!
Now this muumuu, complete with the leopard print and silky teal collar…hello Blanche Devereaux!! I guarantee this was in the wardrobe room of The Golden Girls at some point! It’s a sleep dress of sorts (full on zipper down the front…) that I knew I just had to have a go at.
I mean it would just be silly to turn down leopard print, right??
OMG just two more days left!!! We won’t discuss that yet. Let’ s just talk about the dress.
Well hello 1982!! I know traditionally the day after Thanksgiving is known as Black Friday, but I wanted to turn that name on it’s head. There is nothing dark about this outfit today and I promise nobody waited outside in a line for days to get this.
This dress is literally by the company, Climax, and I mean could it get any more Linda Evans from Dynasty?
No, I don’t think it could as we’re literally in the same dress!! Big issue #1 was that mine had lots of these little discolorations on the arms and on the front of the dress.
We’re going a dye route today which should get us free and clear of these in no time!!
